My thoughts for sure, but his A&P suggested it. Weird.
No. Thats the type mechanic you want working for you. Follows why I always recommend having your mechanic involved in all prebuys. He needs a different A&P

...somewhere else.Sketchy buyers should be doxxed...
A mechanic who suggests such an invasive, unproductive, and problem creating step as pulling a cylinder for an inspection vs a bore scope isn’t a mechanic I’d want working for anyone IMHO.No. Thats the type mechanic you want working for you. And this is the difference I pointed out to you in Post 34. Borescopes cant see everything on a recip. Full stop. Now if you requested a cylinder to be pulled from one of my customers aircraft I would recommend not to. However, if performing a prebuy for a customer and I thought there were internal issues with an engine I would definitely request a cylinder removal as a condition of sale. If not no sale. That is the type of knowledge I talking about in reference to aircraft ownership.A mechanic who suggests such an invasive, unproductive, and problem creating step as pulling a cylinder for an inspection vs a bore scope isn’t a mechanic I’d want working for anyone IMHO.
