Romantic Interest @ my flight school

It’s not and yes I’m still here lurking.

Story short, I don’t think it’ll happen. Shortly after posting this thread, she told the flight school that she wanted to take a sabbatical for a month or so to get some health issues under control. Here we are 5+ months later and she still hasn’t returned and there’s been no sign of her. Maybe I should text her. I wanted to take her out on a date, but it might just not be in the cards. Heck, she hasn’t flown since July or August.

Careful, don't rush things.

Popping up after six months of no contact to check in on her will require some skill. Do you have any friends with higher EQ that could assist?

Or you could just send something like, "Happy New Year! Been missing you at the school, and I hope to see you flying in 2026." Maybe she responds with something that gives you an opening.

I think he's fine. Sending a note 6 months later to check up on somebody is way, way better than pestering relentlessly. Plus, it sets a nice expectation for future communications. But don't start off on the date thing. Ask - "hey, haven't seen you around for a long time. Are you ok? Maybe moved on from this flying thing?" And then wait.

Ok, this may sound silly, but I think I WOULD text her and just see how she's doing and let her know she was missed if you still like her as a person.

That doesn’t sound silly to me. That sounds like a decent thing to do.

Like a restraining order?

Was the health issue an annoying guy at her workplace?

Hi, I am a flight instructor at my local flight school. One of the other instructors is a very attractive female instructor my same age, single, and with the same life goals. I’d really like to ask her out, but I know romance at the work place can be a no no. That said, I don’t feel a flight school environment is your typical workplace either. Is there ever an appropriate time to seek this out or is it a hard no and I move on?
