Redneck Pilot Ep. 2

FYI, It's a freshly uploaded vid. High Def may not be available for a little while.

You’re off to a good start. I don’t want to put any pressure on you, but us rednecks out here are hoping you make us proud!

So much genius!

I wanna know how many garage sales you had to hit up to find all those old video cameras, lol.

I'm not sure genius is the right word.

I gave you a spot in the intro. Hope you don't mind.

The garage sale thing was a lie. I actually just got them out of the dining room closet.

I wonder if I should admit that I was believing it until he got to the cassette tape. :dunno:

Haha! Well, that's pretty much what I was shooting for.

That there is some fine behind the scenes production coverage. I would offer one suggestion. I’d tie a cable to the eyepiece on the camera on your left strut and run it into the cabin. That way, you can use the drag of the eyepiece to adjust for a crosswind, leaving your attention free for more important things on takeoff and landing, like aiming the tripod camera for action shots...

LOL - friggin’ awesome.

Well, except for the Sooner hat. Like ou, that thing sucks! :)

.

I was thinking you borrowed the cameras from a bud's porn, er, pawn shop. I have an old VHS camera around here I think, it'd look good on the belly maybe.

The whole video was great, especially the intro. You pull the whole thing off amazingly well.

Thanks everybody! I'm so glad you guys like it. I was a little apprehensive about it to tell the truth, but it seems well received. I guess I'll go on to ep. 3.

Yeehaw, son! Get 'er done! Love it! This obviously ain't yer first rodeo!

About all the redneck phrases I can think of right now ... confession, while I ain't from the South, I am from South Dakota. Close enough?

I had to look that up ... nope! Looks like Hoople is about as far north as you can live in ND without a passport to Canada? I do have a whole townful of relatives in Hope, ND but that's almost SD ... I grew up in Custer, SD.

Hoople is, of course, the home of the University of Southern North Dakota at Hoople, home of Professor Peter Schickele, the world's foremost expert on P.D.Q. Bach, Johann's least reputable offspring.

Rednecks aren't limited to the south. Quite the contrary. They can be found all over the globe. It's an attitude and a way of life not limited by geography, other than living generally outside cities of course.

Wow, awesome. You forgot to attach the word "Satire" to the YT video title. That is required nowadays. LOL
You did it so well with a straight face, you got me wondering at the strut mount camera but I was nearly rolling on the floor when I saw the one glued (I presume) to the beacon. Bravo! :)

Btw, I recognize Steve'n'Seagulls. Great band. Hayseed Dixie is also my favorite.

Good job and keep 'em comin'!! *thumbsup*

Glad you liked it!

I forgot to mention that the tail cam is attached with 3Mike double sided tape.

A real redneck would use 90mph tape. (They'd know that plain duct tape wouldn't work but be familiar with 90mph tape from NASCAR).

Yep ...

Speakin' of NASCAR, I was watching Snowboard Cross on the Olympics this afternoon, and I heard something that made me very proud. First of all, snowboarding is pretty much antithetical to redneckism for a number of reasons, but as the event unfolded, the announcer likened the sport to NASCAR and said, and I quote, "Rubbin' is Racin'."

'Murca!

Why do I keep hearing Buck Owens in my head singing "Act Naturally" while watching your redneck videos?

Nah a real redneck would use scotch tape and/or masking tape, or string.

Lol, had me going until I saw the rudder cam on the beacon.

Great video. If I hadn't of read the thread before watching you might have had me going too. Love the intro. But dude, don't give it away by saying it's a spoof on your YT channel. You gotta get some comments from people that thought you were serious. That would be some high comedy there! lol.

Well, that's the way I'd prefer it, but I was afraid somebody might try to get me in trouble for flying around with 5 lb cameras precariously attached to critical pieces of airframe. I dunno. Not sure what a redneck can get away with in public these days. Figured I'd play it safe while I dip a proverbial toe into the YouTube trough.
