Hi all. I am a twice retired pilot who also has an A&P/IA. I've been working on Garmin installs in particular and often run into issues that are puzzling to say the least. I see I need to post a few times before I can add a link, so this will be my start.

More later. Ferg

Welcome Dwane. Where do you hail from?

I've not installed a Garmin before, but I have spent money on them and I did stay at a Holiday Inn once.......

:D

Are you in a avionics shop or a "regular" A&P shop?

Are you working in a Garmin Dealer shop?

I'm not in an avionics shop and I'm not working in a dealership. I'm an A&P/IA who has done a number of Garmin installs including G5s, GI275s and GFC 500 autopilots. However, I am not looking for customers. I only work on my own aircraft.

What Garmin project do you have lined up next?

Nice. We just brought home a 182 with a full -275 panel, GFC500, and 650Xi.

Of course that also means as soon as we landed, the EIS started acting up. MP first, then all Xs. We’re back to indications now, but there’s erroneous data so troubleshooting continues.

I suspect the GEA 24 ground isn’t the best, but we’ll see.

@TCABM If you can, post a picture of your panel. Would be great to see how it's all arranged / laid out.

Thanks!

You’re welcome. Pilot side has the PFD, HSI, and EIS along with analogs. Smart glide button under the EIS. Safety Pilot side has Area 760 and PFD. Center stack is audio panel, GTN, GFC500, and transponder.

GFC500 is three axis with auto trim.
