That's my thought as well. Manuals are generally poorly done, but Ford figured there would be a lot of people in this market who would want it so they did it right.
That top gear ratio is important. On the Ram, my G56's top gear is probably equivalent to 5th gear (or maybe 5.5th gear) on the automatics. It's not too annoying, but the engine could absolutely spin lower. It's enough that I'm considering installation of a GearVendors Overdrive. Not because I need it at all, but because I'd like it. Plus then I'd need to install a hi/lo switch of some sort, and the idea of making that look like a second shifter and end up with a twin-stick Ram is really appealing.
I'm trying to figure out a place in the fleet to put one of these. Replacing Laurie's GL550 is the closest option, but we do want the third row...
