What hotel was that? Looks like a nice place to take wife for a weekend trip.

It's the Opryland hotel. My wife likes to go there in December when they have it decorated for Christmas. While there we go to the Grand Old Opry for a Christmas show. The hotel is expensive so the last couple of times we stayed at a nearby Residence Inn.

You can stay at the opryland hotel and catch a water ferry to the end of Broadway St downtown Nashville.

Well that would be cool. I couldn't find it in a search though. I did find a water taxi, but they don't mention that service...maybe runs in the summer?

The Opryland Hotel is big, and grand, in the southern tradition. It's like a big themed casino resort without the casino. The Opry Mills mall is a short walk away with theaters, unique restaurants, and shopping. Also the Grand Ole Opryhouse for the Opry and other shows. Lastly, the General Jackson Showboat, which I'd recommend. It does lunch and dinner cruises with a show. It sails down the Cumberland to the downtown area then reverses course back to its dock in the Opry Mills parking area. All of this is walking distance from the Opryland Hotel. I don't have any additional info on the water taxi.

Across the street to the north of the hotel are bars, restaurants, entertainment, hotels, etc. but they are more touristy.

I'm about then miles from that area.

Oh no, looks like that's no longer available. Bummer.

Looks like Uber and Lyft fares start just under $20 between south Broadway and the Opryland hotel.
I can tell you that at 12:30 AM it's $40+tip...
