Better known as CenturyLink phone & internet service. Land lines are supposed to be reliable. In addition to dealing with the AI/robo purgatory, I can’t get any repairs until next Monday! Almost a week!

There’s a senior VP at Lumen/Centurylink who decided there will be no voice tech support, only chat. May he rot with the busy signal in his brain for eternity.

Last week of the semester, no computer support at home so I’ll need to drive downtown to use the network I order to grade homework and exams for 3 classes. No, I won’t work at Starbucks or the library,

And can we PLEASE turn off the auto fill/auto correct on this website?

This is why I have a different carrier for the house, the cell phone and the tablet. If all three go out at the same time there’s a much more serious problem than home internet.

I don't know about the rest of the country, but here Centurylink seems to be giving up. The other telecom services in the area have gone all fiber and modernized. The only copper lines left are Centurylink and they aren't adding any new infrastructure, just maintaining what they have left.

We had Centurylink for years. They were slow. T-mobile home internet is much better.

File an official complaint with FCC. Go on the website or call. You’ll get a call back from on high pretty soon. They take agency inquiries seriously. That’s what we did about 3 years ago when Frontier DSL on our street was atrocious. The lady that called back from Frontier was not happy that they had to formally respond to FCC. They implemented a quick fix that was great for us but screwed another adjacent street. It was comedy.

Is CenturyLink’s phone service a landline? I thought it was a form of VoIP.
For us it was a landline with DSL Internet. The Internet was slow and unreliable but at least I didn't see evidence the company was trying to fraudulently bill me like I saw with another cable internet provider in our area.

Ah. We had ours with Spectrum. It was via cable modem connection rather than DSL.

Yeah, I have experience with spectrum also. It's been generally good fast reliable Internet but I've lost trust in the company. I've had multiple instances of getting billed for modem rental when I own my own modem. Them telling me that I had to prove that I bought my modem even when I didn't buy it from charter. Then, refusal to refund charges for said modem rental after I produced a receipt for a modem I had purchased years before. There were other similar issues as well that has led me to avoid doing business with the company if there are other options.

Starlink!
3 years ago as we were building the house got up on the roof and scanned for the satellites. No dice, too many trees.

We were stuck with Spectrum and it went out 4-5 times a days for 30 secs to 10 minutes, very frustrating. They had a monopoly and let their infrastructure get dated. Fidium came in and ran fiber and we switched. Spectrum was then forced to update their infrastructure to compete. I haven't switched back yet but open to it. Of course customer service for both is nonexistent.

Don't get me started. Sprint/Embark/CenturyLink/Brightspeed has totally hosed up our HOA accounts.
