big doings at 5PM eastern. They have some intel that says ATC recruits cheated on exams, and FAA mgmt removed qualified candidates for less qualified candidates based on 'diversity' factors.

We'll see what kind of evidence they produce, but knowing what I know about fed hiring and the current admin - this sounds entirely plausible on it's face.

Interesting...

Re: Fox Business news airing special investigation: "Trouble in the skies?" 5PM ET to

And more grist for privatized ATC.

Personally, I think this sounds like a sensationalized hit piece. On the other hand, it could explain a few of the controllers I have dealt with in the past year or two.

Me too. One of those 'expose' articles that doesn't have much meat, but a lot of bones. If there were serious issues at ATC it would be on Fox News, and not business. However, I'm interested in the hiring angle. I know that NASA was forced to do this way back in the 60/70s when all the test pilots, and astronauts were white men. They 'deep dipped' the selection process to include one minority, and passed over several more qualified candidates. Pretty sure there's some truth to the diversity angle, but we'll see.

PeeGee;1783978 In the end the gov won't save anything said:
a good middle class wage [/B]they'll push the pay down and pocket the difference.

So the workers are forced to stay there and work for less? They can't leave and get another job? So they're slaves?

Re: Fox Business news airing special investigation: "Trouble in the skies?" 5PM ET to

Because no one has ever changed fields - ever.

Re: Fox Business news airing special investigation: "Trouble in the skies?" 5PM ET to

Some day maybe people will realize they've been voting against their own self interests for years and actually pay attention.
We agree on that, but I suspect it is for different reasons.

Re: Fox Business news airing special investigation: "Trouble in the skies?" 5PM ET to

Well, based on what I just heard, Fox has the goods, and the FAA is just as corrupt as every other three letter agency. Absolutely sickening. It brings out the anger and frustration in me as a user of the NAS and knowing that I have to rely on someone who is clearly, and unarguably not the best qualified candidate for these jobs.

The deception, and double dealing in the FAA has no place in the NAS, and Fox so far has hit a double with no outs. There's a follow up story later and we'll find out who got the inside track. I bet I can guess already.

Disgusted, but not really surprised. What a shiltty deal.

Ya think MSNBC would even give it a second thought???...:no::no::no:

No they wouldn't give it a second thought. They would immediately destroy any all evidence without thinking twice...

Or am I thinking of Hillary??

Two words: May Sweeps.

FAA mgmt removed qualified candidates for less qualified candidates based on 'diversity' factors.

I'm sure that is completely true and I think it is disgusting.

Yup, they caught the FAA cold. You won't guess who did the deed for the FAA, and what race he is. Oh yeah, you will guess, and you'll be right.

Oh, of course he's still on the federal payroll.

I am sure Obama, Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton and all the other African Americans in the administration will correct this clear cut discrimination TODAY..........

NOT...:no::no::no::mad:

I've found that the world is a pretty great place when you don't watch the news.

My employer is a private entity, and lord knows corruption, waste, cheating, hiring for diversity - all this crap happens in spades around here. I'm not sure that government agencies have a monopoly on this stuff.

Re: Fox Business news airing special investigation: "Trouble in the skies?" 5PM ET to

I read the article this morning. The federal government is so corrupt...............................................

Is your employer tasked with moving many tons of metal with humans in them around the sky?

Re: Fox Business news airing special investigation: "Trouble in the skies?" 5PM ET to

Obviously these guys have never heard the phrase "if it isn't broke don't fix it".

Well, that's just peachy. Tell your bosses this isn't some video game, where there's a reset button.

I'd love to! :)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not making an argument against privatizing ATC. Just airing out a little frustration with some of the BS I see at work. Heh!
