Once again it's autumn here in Central Florida, and the trees in our downtown park have begun shedding their summer plumage.

Already our temperatures have plunged into the high 80s and it's almost time to break out the flannel shirts again. Soon the license plates will begin changing color.

To those who say we have no seasons here, hogwash. It's football season.

From what I recall of my time in Dallas, Texas can sometimes get all four seasons within a 24 hour period.
Yeah, especially up that way! We like Spring the most... that week of Spring we get every year!

I still have broken airplanes… it won’t cool down here until they’re fixed.

Apparently it’s necessary that I suffer while I work on planes.

The whole state is counting on me, no pressure.

Portland has a lovely summer, but I had to work that day.

On a business trip to Buffalo one winter, a local told me, "We had a beautiful summer. Then the next week it started snowing again."

Last week I had a new swamp cooler installed on the house.

Only used it enough to make sure there are no leaks.

there are various versions of this (I have a better version but this one I could find quickly)

30°F (-1°C)
• The Midwest: A light fleece jacket. Local residents might leave it unzipped if the wind dies down.
• The South: Total, absolute state of emergency. Everyone is wearing full Arctic parkas, ski goggles, and three pairs of wool socks.
• The Pacific Northwest: A standard flannel shirt and shorts. It is raining, but nobody is using an umbrella.

60°F (16°C)
• Southern California: A winter crisis. People are wearing Ugg boots, heavy beanies, and puffer jackets while shivering over an iced oat milk latte.
• The Northeast: Peak autumn fashion. Everyone looks like they are starring in a cozy coffee commercial with oversized sweaters and boots.
• The Midwest: Genuine summer weather. The shorts are out, the sandals are on, and someone is definitely mowing their lawn in a tank top.

90°F (32°C)
• The Northeast: Pure misery. People are wearing the thinnest linen possible while actively melting into the humid subway pavement.
• The Southwest (Arizona): "It’s a dry heat!" They are wearing jeans, a t-shirt, and a light cardigan because the air conditioning inside the grocery store is set to a freezing 60°F.
• The South: A test of human endurance. They are wearing shorts and breathable fabrics, but the air is so thick with humidity you don't really wear your clothes—you swim in them.

Here in Northeast Ohio we are expecting a light fleece jacket winter.

Thanks, Super El Niño!

Pretty dramatic change here in IL, we were experiencing temps in the 90s last week and over the weekend. Was miserable to be out, today it's in the low 60s and I feel slightly chilly.

It was in 93 yesterday and now its 74. Picked the perfect day to ride one of the motorcycles. Nice change to not sweat to death while working in the hangar. Northern TN.

Now that it’s fall in Florida it’s time to start my migration south.

I'm flying up to Arkansas this afternoon. Looking forward to the high of 84!

I’m looking forward to a LOW of 84… sadly.

Currently sitting at 14C here in SW Ontario. Going down to 8C overnight. But I love cold weather :D

Plane go zoom-zoom better with cold, dense air!

ATL one day last week summer just left. Went from high 90's to mid 80's in day, and high 60's when sun goes down. Now in that fun season of AC running in daytime, and night either has windows open or furnace is running.

It's 68 degrees here and I can't find my thermal underwear or winter coat. I was sure I put them in the closet in 2023.

we REALLY REALLY REALLY need that middle finger icon

Well... I guess that means I'm getting into "fly to Florida all the time" season.

Bah. In Wisconsin we can do it in 12 hours with a hangover!

That's how we end up like this:
