So I was thinking about all the dumb things I've done and hope to never do again and thought I'd pass along and maybe others can share they're *lesson learned*

If you have a tea light candle burning on a wood table be sure to have a sponge nearby so that when (not if) the candle container gets warm enough and starts a small fire you can use the sponge to put it out and not your hand. :)

There have been a few training sessions at work that were worse than being a colossal waste of time. I can take only so much buzzword crap pyscho-babble before I start having unChristian thoughts about the pointy hair idiots who think that nonsense has any value.

(sorry - no lessoned learned with this one)

Try it when instead of training session, it's someone trying to sell a job for your company.

Q - "So what kind of engineering services can your company provide on this project?"

A - " We want to keep everyone in the loop on what is going on and keep the lines of communication open."

Q - "Thanks, but what kind of services do you provide?"

A - "We want everyone to be apart of the team. We are really big on teamwork and want everyone to be part of the team."

rinse, repeat....:mad2::mad2:

On the OP, we ended up with a nice burned patched on our counter from a glass candle jar cracking and spilling out (about 8in diam). I assume at least, we weren't in the room. Sure glad the house didn't go up. Won't be trying that one again.

Getting flight instruction from an instructor that was more interested in having a steady paycheck than progressing his students...

Eating Mongolian BBQ behind someone who piles on the heat.
I regularly have Mongolian BBQ with the same person. I let her go first, she piles on the heat, I put none in...perfect every time. But if you're behind a stranger, it's a crapshoot.

Walked out of one (BLI) of those with a cow-orker who was from the Soviet Union. He said that the meeting was the closest thing to a Communist party meeting that he had been to since leaving the USSR. It wasn't just about what to do - it was about what / how to think.

Low fuel, in the dark, into a 70 knot headwind (in a 90 knot helicopter) which is bringing surprise sleet and an ice obscured windscreen with intermittent beacon reception from the ship somewhere 50 miles out in the crud and them telling you you are lost in the sea return on the air search radar. Made for a very interesting night that I'd rather not experience again.

Marriage.

I should have listened to her parole officer. But nooooo...

To any 16-17 y/o's...never,ever throw an unopened beer can into the camp fire you and your friends are huddled around just to see what happens. :nono:

No idea what Levaquin is, but i'm struggling with dual shoulder impingement right now and going through physical therapy where their idea of fixing it is yanking my arms out hoping the tendons relax and don't snap back.. I can't wait until I get full movement back but man, I've never paid so much money to be put through so much pain in my life!

if you EVER start to get impingement/"Frozen shoulder" - DON'T wait like I did hoping it will heal itself!

Never again be in a squal/thunderstorm in a sailboat. Did it 14 years ago....and again last summer. Never again....hopefully.

The X ranks right up there with a cortisone shots.

Many Januaries ago, going to sleep in my van at a truck stop, wrapped in a sleeping bag, with the engine running. :frown2:

I now know what hypothermia is and just how much even minor frostbite hurts.

I rather not get hit by a car that is running a stop sign again. That hurt. Didn't do my wife or the motorcycle any good, either.

Levaquin is a pretty strong Antibiotic. Some people are allergic in that it tightens up shoulder tendons sometimes to the point of tearing either mid tendon or at the attach point. Mine didn't tear but it felt like I was on the rack. Sounds a lot like what your "therapy" is doing manually.

I have had Korean BBQ (looooooooove Korean), not familiar with Mongolian/the method you mention. How does that work?

Imagine a large, round flat grill the size of a small table with two to three Chinese looking dudes around it armed with a pair of large wooden chopstick like things the size of a tennis racket.

You get in line with a bowl, put some different raw meats in it, and veggies, and sauces, and oil, and give it to one of them and he throws it on there and cooks it. The next person gives theirs to the next cook and they slowly rotate around the table, flipping and frying, and when it's cooked they shovel it off the edge in to a bowl.

Eat, repeat as desired.

Looks something like this.

Actually, I'd rather not go through the medical I went through the other day again. Don't need that many surprises in one day, thank you ver much.

Yeah, I'm always suspicious when doc has both of his hands on my shoulders during that part of the exam.

Hemorroid surgery. Very painful, feels like having a bare coconut in your anus.

Bob,

At this point in time, it would behoove you to investigate your core competencies, stressing the team approach. At the end of the day, the shared values will insure a win-win. :dunno:

Yes, and if the person in front of you has used extremely spicy sauces and oils, the next guy's dish tends to pick that up (they don't usually clean the grill between customers and sometimes, they have two or three meals circling the grill at the same time). They walk in a circle around the grill and shove your meat along with the giant chopstick. The grill is about 5 feet in diameter.
