Dan Gryder banned from Airventure

It's an inmate search. If he bonded out, he's no longer an inmate. So perhaps he was arrested, was an inmate until he satisfied his bond, and is now out.
See below
There's an arrest database for Spaulding County as well. Nothing on the 12th or a few days earlier, not searchable by name.

There’s a docket number in the image. If someone had the time, they could search Georgia court dockets for the case number as an attempt to validate the information.

Ok, why are we attempting to DOX this guy?

If he's a douche nozzle that's fine to discuss that.

Also the FAA airman registry has a bit of a 'bug'. It shows the date of the LAST certificate issued, not the date initially issued.

I moved and both my pilot and MX issue dates coincide with my address update, not the date I got the signoffs. Both my PPL and AnP issue dated are not the dates I pass the O&Ps or checkride.

Its not a bug and been that way forever. Anytime a certificate is issued it must reflect the name of the current FAA Administrator under whose authority the certificate is issued. If you want a record of your previous certificate issues you need to request a copy of your airmen record and it will list those previous dates.

I had to look up what doxxing was. If it’s publicly available info, is it really doxxing?
In this climate? With all the nutters out there?

I believe its fine to talk about his statements, but not dig into personal life. Ethics anyone?

Have fun, I'm out.

Geez, I was just asking a question. Had no idea what doxxing meant.

No.

Noting that he was arrested for aggravated assault a few days ago is not "digging into personal life". This isn't "saw him at a restaurant with someone other than his wife" kind of thing. This isn't "I don't like his guitar playing, so here's his home address so you can send him better song books to harass him". This is an arrest for a very serious allegation.

To be fair Dan loves digging into the personal lives of anyone he can for drama, and he’s a public figure by choice. Posting public records really isn’t doxxing. The question is if it’s true or not.

Has Dan dug up information about anyone’s divorce, bankruptcy, loss of employment, arrests? That’s personal stuff.

FYI in the airman registry there’s a Daniel ANDREW Gryder and a DYLAN Wayne Gryder but no Daniel Wayne Gryder. Both of the above have a dc-3 type rating interestingly enough.
As others found, he is in there, but he doesn't have the address release. The two you list above are Dan's sons.

Neat new trick for internet dwellers.
That "new trick" has been around for at least 20 years. I've had a Google watch on my name for a really long time.

That's not what doxxing is.

Someone else on another forum said this:

"There was one arrest for aggravated assault that day ("Aggravated Assault / Battery - Gun (C)"). The victim was a 21-year old male and it was reported at 6:30 AM."

That's pretty early in the day to already be beating up kids.

Yes, yes he has. That's part of why he's so disliked.

That said, letting him live rent free in your head is not good for anyone. I get the schadenfreude, but i think you'll find that the less you think about Dan, the happier you'll be. Honestly, I feel bad for him. There's clearly something off about him. Quite possible he never dealt with the trauma of losing his wife. I hope he gets some help and is able to find some joy outside of seeking fame & attention.

What exactly is your ethical issue, here?

Gryder has made himself into a public persona, at least for a specific audience. He has voluntarily chosen to put himself into that position, and he profits from it.

It seems reasonable to me that his audience has an interest in Gryder's ethics, including allegations of criminal behavior.

I get the schadenfreude
Me too!

, but i think you'll find that the less you think about Dan, the happier you'll be.
Nah, I love the schadenfreude. It's part of a complete breakfast.

Damn it man, now you're ruining it for me!

Seriously, I wondered the same thing a while back. It seems like a very good theory.

I don't know if it's real or fake, but around here you can get booked into the county jail by being arrested in a few different jurisdictions. An inmate in Dallas county jail was not necessarily arrested by Dallas county. Maybe the same in Spalding. I don't know. Someone should just ask him.

The guy throws a ton of shade and supposition painting people in a bad light for what he feels, all the time. He’s never appeared as a good dude with his actions. It’s why he is so disliked.

They all feel personal, but three of those four are matters of public record. Back when people still read newspapers, our local birdcage liner had a list of them in the daily edition.

You must have had a really imposing newspaper in your day and lived in a rather small town.

Nope. Fairly standard content, even to this day. Every issue of the Wall Street Journal will have mention of a divorce, an arrest, or other untoward activities committed by public figures, but that’s beside the point. Some jurisdictions actually require public notice of certain legal proceedings and that usually occurs via the local daily paper.

Like him or hate him, there’s no contesting the fact that DG has made himself a public figure, has a history of legal issues he’s either publicized himself or are a matter of public record in the small world of aviation.

The local paper in the county I live still does, plus all court filings, property transfers, small claims court judgments, and the sheriff/deputy reports for all there official “calls/contacts” including location, time, and reason.

Our paper, unfortunately, has mostly turned into a shopper magazine. But the local authorities publish all this stuff online now. In some cases on a daily basis.

Massachusetts court system has a publically accessible website. Included are divorce cases (except for those that are "sealed"). Information that is available does not include the contents of financial statements, transcripts of hearing, and such.

Neither, I don't think. Grew up in Omaha, with one major daily, the Omaha World-Herald (known also as the "Weird Harold"). It was pretty standard, and there was a daily "Public Record" page listing divorce filings, arrests and convictions, bankruptcies, property sales, and so on. All of that is public information. Bankruptcies especially are required to be published publicly.

This was also posted on another forum. "More info is coming out. Sounds like on or near Griffin airport in GA where he got into an altercation in a vehicle with somebody. He pulled a gun on some guy and said "if you come any closer, I will shoot."

Maybe it's because it's still morning, but I'm having trouble following if the discussion is about a youtube guy, or the movie "White Heat".

Another update. Copy and pasted for posterity...

Updated: Gryder Arrested On Gun Charge, Cites ‘Georgia Stand Your Ground’ Law

Incidents Allegedly Occured As Described in Police Report(s) 25-005809 and 25-005818

ANN Update, 0828ET, 10.17.25: ANN Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell was woken up earlier this morning (0705ET) by a phone call from Dan Gryder. Campbell had gone to bed only a few hours earlier due to working late on other projects and was awoken from a sound sleep.

Gryder called to castigate Campbell over alleged errors that he claimed were part of recent reporting (though all reports were based on Police reports and related conversations) and then attempted to assert that Campbell was drunk, both via Gryder's voice communications as well as follow-on text messaging. As ANN Staff can attest, Campbell is not a drinker, and was simply trying to wake up to deal with Gryder's statements... which quickly evolved into insults, name-calling and other offensive acts. When Gryder's invective grew increasingly hostile, appeared to be threatening and as is ANN policy, the short call (less than 10 minutes) was terminated.

Shortly thereafter, Gryder texted ANN with insistence that Campbell 'sounded' drunk, and then proceeded with what appeared to be a claim that he recorded the very recent call (with an apparent intent to broadcast), despite no attempt to inform Campbell that he was doing so, and despite the fact that Gryder was calling a party in Florida... a 'two-party consent' state. In Florida, recording a phone call requires two-party consent.

This means that all individuals engaged in a private conversation must consent to any audio recording of the conversation to be legal. This is a strict requirement to protect the privacy rights of individuals and is codified in Florida Statutes § 934.03. Violating this law can result in serious criminal penalties, including imprisonment and fines.

Based on this, and multiple reports of related actions on Gryder's part, we felt it best to file a report with the Police... and have done so. Our local Police Department attempted to call Gryder to question him but Gryder refused discussion and reportedly hung up on the officer.

Original Report: The name ’Dan Gryder’ is fairly well known to many in aviation.... Whether you like him or not.

ANN is examining Police reports that describe an armed confrontation that took place at 147 Sky Harbor Way, Griffin GA, on October 12th between Dan and a resident he accused of blocking the taxiway with an RV (which was reportedly a regular occurrence)... and which allegedly developed into an assault on Gryder by fellow resident Tracy Darrell Wallace the day before.

When Wallace reportedly approached Gryder the next day ‘to offer apologies (according to Wallace’ testimony), Gryder reported to ANN that he felt threatened and invoked Georgia’s ‘Stand Your Ground’ law, showing Wallace a small handgun on his own property and allegedly threatening its use if Wallace continued his approach.

The reports on the prior day’s beating of Gryder conflict with each other’s testimony though a nearby video camera may ultimately prove who did what, though Wallace was also taken into custody.

While Gryder is no stranger to controversy, news reports from 2018 show that Wallace is no stranger to conflict, either... with an arrest for battery and false imprisonment.

It's apparently a tough neighborhood...

ANN is examining additional Police documents received in accordance with Public Disclosure laws and will report back when the situation gets a bit better defined.
