Remember those cloud separation minimums for all VFR flight. Bryan Turner just passed his instrument checkride today. This has been a public service announcement.
Congratulations! Maybe I’ll add my name to that list tomorrow. My problem will be making it to the checkride. I have to go a pretty long distance for a tailwheel DPE and the hurricane is lessening the reliability of the forecast. If I can make it there tomorrow, maybe I’ll even pass the checkride.
Someone is really ecstatic. @SixPapaCharlie , dude, we’re you that much of a pain to live with during training? Wise cracking aside, con gratchu effin lations
I was with the crowd when he exited the airplane. So we have additional live witnesses this isn’t a prank on his followers. From the original “How to land a Cirrus” video that started the channel, now I’m looking forward to the “how to shoot an approach in a Cirrus” satire videos Huge congratulations Bryan!!!!!
Does an instrument rating in a Cirrus come with a limitation that you can only fly in the clouds with a chute? Congrats anyway!
The rest of us have to stay far away from the clouds to avoid the guy parachuting out of them all the time.
Saw title. remembered the Three Stooges short on making turkey stuffing where Curly reads the recipe to separate 2 eggs. been a strange evening. At the celebration tonight, conversation drifted to people geeking out over meeting internet CFI celebrities. I mention Josh Flowers and Lee Dix, and Bryan interrupts, “What is this Dix and Flowers you’re talking about?” and the rest of the table was off to the races riffing on that theme for quite a while.
Awww, heck. Congratulations all around for a job well done. Now, get that shiny new cert wet (or a little damp...). Be careful up there.
I believe the implication is it should be higher now because our friend might be in there coming to get you. Reaction time ya know.
HAHAH! Yep. I accidentally got instrument rated yesterday. it was really easy. You should all do it. It will make you a better pilot just like me now
Does the instrument rating cancel out being a Cirrus pilot? Asking for a friend. Just kidding, none of my friends fly a Cirrus. Or exist.
So - what are your secondary / secret minimums that allow you to fly below the published minimums? I've heard that all you YouTube celebrities are allowed to have them.... And.... Did the DPE get the swoons and vapors, getting to work so close to such a famous Aviation Web Social Media Celebrity Influencer (I have no idea what all those words mean).
