Not accurate. My Flight Instructor certificate very definitely says "Instrument Airplane". I am not certified to teach instruments in helicopters. However, the above IS true of Ground Instructor certificates

What I find funny is that the FAR/AIM book tells you everything (in my opinion anyway) in clear English. Im amazed so many dont understand the difference between certs and ratings.. this should be PPL level knowledge.
Im sure there are CFI-I l's out there that dont even know how they got the rating and the regs behind it.

Next question.. if I have a comm multi engine rating and I am a CFI.. can I teach students for the multi engine rating??? lol
