Any ideas where I can find a proper spelt belt extender for the rear seat of a Cessna Cardinal. The off the shelf extenders are too narrow for the wide buckle on the current belts. It’s a club aircraft, so at this time replacing or rewebing it isn’t an option.

Post the seatbelt P/N as they may have been replaced at one point. Depending on whose belt you can look to the belt OEM for one.

Your passenger is "hefty" enough that he/she is in need of a seat belt extender, or are you looking for a car seat installation? I ask because of how much force/strength would be needed for the seat belt/extender system.

You could just buy a replacement rear belt set and make your own extender with the male and female belt ends.

My son is large (380 pounds) and requires an extender. Weight and balance works with him sitting in the back seat.

Buy a new set of rear belts. Have the non buckle ends sewn together.

Answering my own question if case someone else is looking.

Alpha Aviation stocks the proper extension for my plane.

I used them for a 1968 C182L with stock belts this year, worked great
