Cat had the blues.....

I'm really not playing devils advocate, but I am curious to see what the courts will say about government run social media accounts and 1st amendment rights.
I could actually see some distinction being made between what you or I could do as non-governmental actors and what a governmental actor can do. (I guess we'll know it's fair if everyone is upset by the result.)

I am curious as to the distinctions that may be made. I run a social media account for a small local governmental body. Will the courts say we must allow any and all comments, no matter how profane, prejudicial, or disturbing? What about blocking posts made by spammers and bots? Will the courts tie our hands?

Probably be similar to the pornography hearings back in the day. Can't define it, but you know it when you see it.

Science has proven the funniest sound known to man (gender specific) is a cat yowling when run into by a vacuum cleaner.

Our cat just runs when she hears a vacuum cleaner anywhere near her, so not a problem.

She's better at sound effects. She loves to make the sound of zippers zipping, the sound of shoes squeeking on the front hallway floor, and one day when changing smoke detector batteries I found she was making the dead battery chirp.

I love your bird. That dead battery chirp made my day.

We have in past years adopted dogs. At the present, no dog. We never have adopted a cat. Not sure anyone really adopts a cat. We have a couple that showed up at our house and never left. (One of them started loosing weight rather quickly, took to the vet, and I asked to have the blood sugar checked. Yep - we have been giving Fred an insulin shot with his food for the last 3 years. Spry as ever now).

Good catch on the diabetic cat. My wife discovered that our Maine Coon was diabetic. He survived for a good number of years with insulin twice a day. (Hard part was sticking his paw to get a BS reading). I'm not really a cat guy but that one was pretty amazing ... :)

We had an indoor cat with severe asthma, he had to do an inhaler twice a day through a device called an AeroKat. The vet was doubtful it would work but we were willing to try anything. After a few weeks we had him trained pretty good, to the point when he would see it he would lift his head and stick out his face for it. The associated treat reward probably had a lot to do with it.

I never had to give mine a blood test, but the vet called me and said "You have to come in and learn how to give your cat insulin shots." I say, "Is it any different than giving it to a child?" They go, "what?". I pointed out my son was a diabetic. It's easier on the cat. The thing was so obese it didn't even notice me giving it the jab.

I was being a bit sarcastic with the blood test thing as many folks wonder how to get a BS reading. There are ways (beads in the litter box, test strips, etc.) but in observing the cat it's pretty easy to tell (thirsty, or overusing the box) whether it's BS is high or low. Once you get a "feel" for what's going on, you can (along with the vet's assistance) know how much to administer and when.

Ours didn't notice the shot as we'd give it as soon as he was head down in the food bowl ... ;)

Hah - that’s exactly how we give Fred his shot. Food dish on kitchen island. Head goes into dish, scruff back of neck and inject 2 units so fast he doesn’t react.

Kitchen island? Unsanitary you say? Not at all. We keep it clean for him. A cat on the island counter is cleaner than what other humans have on their’s.

Haha, we never had indoor pets growing up. My mother saw a picture of one of our cats on the dining room table and questioned if we "let" our pets on the table. No we don't LET them do anything, but lord knows they have reign of the house when no ones looking.

Our Main Coon was an indoor cat but was trained to never be on the kitchen table (but we both know that when the lights go out ... :dunno: )
