So even though flying and alcohol don't go together, aviation-themed alcohol it pretty cool. What brands do you like? For the alcohol or just the bottle? I'm not a fan of gin, but I have my bottle of Aviation Gin because I like the way it looks!

Flare is one that I just heard about from the guys at Round Engine Roundup, and I want to try it!

Years ago, I found a wine with a V-Tail Bonanza label, and bought enough bottles to give one to all of my managers. I don't remember if it was any good, but they all knew I owned a Bonanza and seemed to get a kick out of the symbolism.

If you get pulled over after drinking some aviation-themed booze, the FAA won't yank your license because, you know, its aviation themed.

I've got a bunch of various stuff from the Airfield Winery. The first two were gifts, but they're pretty nice so we buy more from time to time.

They had a booth at Sun’n Fun and we ordered a couple of bottles which we have been enjoying. They didn’t have any bottles on hand to sell so you had to order it, but we got ours in a couple of weeks. We did get to taste it as the Coconut Flyers tent who actually hada bottle and would give you sample if asked. It’s a blend so what we tasted is not quite the same as what we eventually got. It’s not to the level of our favorites (Woodford Reserve and Basil Hayden which I realize aren't top tier either) but not bad for our palettes.

Nobody brought up Aviation Gin yet? I'm disappointed.

I was at a wedding where they had a signature cocktail with jalapeno gin, ginger extract and tonic water, with a bit of blue food coloring. The called it the 100 Low Lead.

Apparently every one here is too young to remember any of the wwII b-17 pilots, every one of them I knew, for what ever reason, had decanters of cutty sark blended with Canadian club whiskey in there “sitting” room. I cant think of anything more aviation than that ( they all said they were given a cup of whiskey when they landed, and it was the closest they could make it to the taste the same…). Actually.. that might be a buisness idea to bottle and market the blend…

Not aviation related but some brothers from my community hit it big in the themed whiskey market.

I’m not much of a hard liquor drinker but I do like the bottles at Bomb City Distillery in Amarillo

A lot of people may not know the history on this one. I grew up near Amarillo. They assemble nuclear weapons at PanTex and we grew up being told that if one of the bombs went off, everything within 50 miles of the plant would be destroyed. Somewhere along the way, Amarillo became known as Bomb City.

I can neither confirm nor deny the presence of T-shirts at a similar facility that read, "If you see me running, it's too late."

The classic Aviation Cocktail… a gin drink (94 octane?).

Speaking of, that Aviator Gin reminds me of GI Gin… bleck!

I'll bring a bottle to Osh -- If you're in the Sleepy Hollow neighborhood (across the street from SoS Bros), swing by and the bar will be open.
Sweet, thanks!

A little off topic but I use this shaving cream because of the little biplane picture on the tube.

Also says "since 1851" so it must be good.

There used to be a dear elderly pilot that would hang out at the airport. He flew B-17s and B-29s during the unpleasantness in the '40's. He told us after every mission the air crews would be served a concoction they called ''Ol' Panther P*ss''.

He said they had to be very careful with it because if you dropped it, it could blow the windows out the briefing room...

Ok, so I googled it and found what's called Red's Pure Old Panther ****... I would have posted the photo here, but I'd probably get kicked off! It leaves nothing to the imagination on how it gets in the bottle. You can buy a sign from Amazon!

County fair bottled in bond after a days flying in viet nam or a beer , or actually any bourbon that was available.

A friend of mine was an engineer working for Dyno Nobel. Anybody in the plant (where they made primers and det cord) was required to wear a bright orange company issued shirt at all times... it made it easier to find the bodies in the event of an explosion.
