My phone, yet again, is about to be bricked by inexcusably bad append-only bloatware. It's time to look for the exit ramp.

My fantasy is a rotary phone in a backpack with a VOIP ATA; pairs well with a van down by the river.
Cartel blackberries are a close second but probably hard to come by on ebay.
A punk move would be to get a jitterbug, but I assume they're preloaded with spyware.
Too bad two way pagers aren't a thing anymore.

Anyway. Unless I'm missing something, that leaves the fairphone 6. I recently learned that it ships with de-googled android.

Of course, that may just mean it comes with non-google shovelware.

Anyone using one?

The Punkt MP02 looks interesting, but I'd be afraid of walking out the door with a calculator by accident.

You may want to take a look at GrapheneOS, which is stock Android but modified to remove Google tracking hooks/services at the OS level: https://grapheneos.org/features

I've been using it for several years and been happy with it. Only real downside from my perspective is that only Pixel devices are supported.

Or just buy a nice used I phone on Gazelle with 256 GB memory and not worry about it. Your 64 GB current memory seems a bit light.
