With CARES you can register a plane in your name directly online with all electronic docs and signatures. LLC and so forth (may) still require snail mail.

I never sent a wet signature to anyone when we bought and registered the aircraft.

I had “stuff”, non sale set asides, affidavits of small estate, death cert, etc.

The Aircraft Registry has their own signature requirements under Part 47 guidance which was clarified by a Notice in the Federal Register a number of years ago. They have certain check and balance requirements when it comes to signatures under Part 47 than the maintenance record signatures being discussed here.
