Hi. Just curious.

For VFR not IFR, 61.57 recent flight experience states that: "..within the preceding 90 days..."

FAR/AIM 61.57 did not mention required action(s) if that is not met.
What is/are action(s) required by the PIC if 61.57 is not met? a simple checkout ride with a qualified CFI will do?

Just curious.

Are you a Private Pilot?

This paragraph is one of the simplest and easiest to read (ascompared to some convoluted rules in the FAR).
If your 90-day 3-landing currency expires, you cannot legally carry passengers. So you hop in (by yoursef), perform 3 landings (to a full stop) and then you can legally carry your wife, gf, buddy for a $100 hamburger run etc.

Btw, as a certificated private pilot, you should know this reg by heart. Or as a student pilot, you need to memorize this one (also for night currency) because it will be on the written test and the oral portion of your checkride.

The landings are only required to be full stop if you are flying a tailwheel or they are night landings.

Did you get your PPL in Dallas by a guy named Lou?

Go really fast down the dragstrip and pull back on the steering wheel before you get to the end of it(important) then turn left twice and left of the accelerator pedal. After that turn left two more times and push on the steering wheel, give it a tug back before you touch the drag pavement.

Repeat this 3 times then write about it in your diary.

Good to go.

There is no such thing as AIM 61.57. There is a FAR 61.57 (or a 14 C.F.R. §61.57 for the "there is no FAR" whiners).

Yeah, I know which you mean, but it the difference between an FAA regulation and an FAA guidance document is an important one. Almost as important as understanding the sentence.

Yep, as others said, the only prohibition is that you can't carry passengers if you haven't made the required takeoffs and landings within the prior 90 days. So go and get the required takeoffs and landings before you next carry a passenger. Pretty simple and straightforward.

You're legal to make three laps if your medical is current and you're within 24 months of your last flight review. Otherwise, you need to visit the doc and/or ride with a CFI.

I had a four. noth layoff once, it took a while to get comfortable again. Moving from a 3000' field to a wide open 5000' field helped, but it still took time to regularly make the midfield turnoff.
