Help Me Spend Time With My Future Wife

Hypothetically speaking, if the threesome has been arranged, wouldn't this now qualify as a common interest flight, meeting the criteria for shared expenses?

Help Me Spend Time With My Future Wife

Seems rude to leave your wife out. The more the merrier.

Garmin Pilot for Android -- Tech Support, Tips, Tricks

Bummer. I was seriously contemplating getting one of these with the primary reason being to run Garmin Pilot.

    Midair at FDK (Frederick, MD)

I have to question the witness statement in the NTSB report about the helicopter appearing to be in a stationary hover. I'm not familiar enough with RW operations, but why would a helicopter be in a hover, at the TPA, with multiple aircraft in the pattern? I understand the NTSB is simply...

    Flap retraction on landing

In the POH for my PA-28-151, it specifically mentions retracting the flaps before applying the brakes.

Crazy Plane Crash Video from Inside Cockpit

Maybe the news report made it appear that these were the words of the NTSB. The whole part about the down draft pushing the plane down was from statements made by one of the passengers.

    Storm Thursday

I had just landed a couple of minutes before this storm rolled through. I was still taxiing in the grass on the south side of 9-27 when it opened up. I couldn't see much, but we did see a tent blowing across the runway.

Airspace restrictions over Leesburg, Va. during Obama rally

Sorry for sounding crass, but does Mr. Stein have anything to add other than links to articles written by himself? Apparently a TFR for a presidential event is threadworthy on an aviation discussion board. :dunno:

    How common are aborted take-offs?

I had one a few weeks ago after a fuel stop on my return trip from Sun n Fun. Run up was fine, nothing abnormal. Upon going to full throttle for take-off, there was some hesitation and I aborted take off. The problem ended up being a partially clogged fuel filter. It could flow enough fuel...

    Bonanza crash, KAPA 4/21/2012

Oh yeah, I'm totally in agreement that any flight made without a flight plan will surely crash. I've just never heard it called a "flight log." I also wasn't aware that "flight logs" were filed with the airport. :dunno:

    New Garmin iPad App

I downloaded it last night and played with it for a while. I will try it out some tomorrow on the flight to Sun n Fun. I like the interface. There are a few things about it that don't seem quite as polished as the ForeFlight app. One bug I encountered was when I was customizing all the data...

    Ramen Noodles

Nothing cures a hangover after a night of partying like a double brick portion of ramen the next morning. Ok, it wasn't really morning when we woke, up, we'll call it early afternoon.

Airport Closure - What is Adequate Notification for Based Aircraft?

I've dealt with runway construction at my home base before, but they really did a good minimizing the pain to everyone. The project started the day after I got my PPL. They kept the runway open the whole time during the project, they just swapped which half we got to use and the length varied...

Pilot’s Erratic Behavior Forces Flight to be Diverted

I thought our omnipotent legislators in congress fixed that after the Colgan crash in Buffalo.
