To BasicMed or Stay with 3rd Class

my 3rd class medical expires May 31. I'm in my mid 50s, no known issues which would preclude a 3rd class renewal. I'm a instrument-rated PP, but I don't have any aspirations of flying commercial, or for hire. I'm fine with my piston, single-engine, four-place poking around. Should I just bow...

Another "help an ignorant person out" topic- hangar purchasing and insurance

I've been presented an opportunity to buy a hangar, and will have my plane and a tenant's aircraft. What/who provides additional coverage for that? Should I form an LLC?

How to do a Lien Release?

I was my little, local bank's first and only aircraft loan. Now that the note is paid off, how do I get a lien release to FAA from them? They don't know (and since I've never paid off an aircraft loan, I don't know either-LOL) Thanks

Looking up a Trimotor instructor name

I'm transferring paper logs to an EFB, and can't decipher the instructor's name that gave me 0.5 flying a Trimotor! I have a certificate number and expiration in my logbook, but his name is illegible. cert # is 1972456 March 2016 expiration. Thanks!

    New starter for my Cardinal.

Just replaced my Prestolite with a Sky-tech. 9lbs lighter off the front of the WB arm. Nice! Now, what to do with a working Prestolite starter, other than use it as ballast in the car's trunk when ice hits this winter.

    Charging battery unattended (Wiring question)

Any of you geniuses made a rig to only allow a trickle charger/desulfenator to work in a certain temp range? I'd like to only charge between 32° and 90° in the hangar. I figure I can do a box with two line-voltage thermostats, one for top limit and one for bottom, or a single thermostat that...

    Seat Belt Extenders?

Now that my two year old is in his bigger safety seat, I've discovered that my plane's rear seat belts aren't compatible with his car booster/safety seat. The 'buckle' end of the seat belt is too wide/thick to fit through the seat structure of the booster seat to buckle with the...

    paint....

Looks like the Cardinal is going in the paint shed this winter. Here's what I've come up with. I'm not really finished with the Cardinal on the tail, but I want some sort of something with a wings-spread bird in flight.

    Obnoxiousness to an instrument student...

Thankfully he's still a friend. I was riding in the backseat of a 172 while my friend flew his dual (hooded) x/c with a mutual friend/CFI in the right seat. Why not make it a trip to go eat at an on-field restaurant? Amigo takes off, dons the foggles, and we get established on the airway...
