The book right beside that one, "Boyd", would also be interesting for someone into combat maneuvers. Boyd is the guy that invented modern air combat. He was quite a guy, it's an interesting story.

    Dowsing for water?

On one of the trips across the pipe while using the jig, I tried to make the rods cross. Couldn't do it. When hand holding, I walk at a normal pace and try to keep my hands still so there is no tipping. It's hard to hold steady while walking. The rods cross at the pipe only. Yes, I know where...

    Dowsing for water?

I'm sure it is, and there are people everywhere who absolutely love the place they live. I said what I did to avoid saying what I really felt about the invitation. Sorry for the lie.

    Dowsing for water?

I had thought about this test way back, but never tried it. Today I tried it using a bashed together holding jig. I tried it out by hand holding the thing and walking across a known water line. I got no indication at all. Then I tried it again in the same wind conditions just a few minutes...

    Dowsing for water?

You're here predicting the future and you accuse me of wizardry? I've never made those excuses. I either got my shovel and started digging or admitted to myself that I couldn't find it. I never dug in vain, but that's just a story with no proof. I don't care about your lunch menu. Eat what you...

    Dowsing for water?

I never claimed magic, or paranormal. I'm not sure what you mean by 'bury a water source, but if you buried a tank of water I could find it in some reasonable sized area. You are quite passionate about something you've never tried and have resorted to name calling to get your point across...

    Dowsing for water?

JREF states that 3 out of 4 is not good enough, but that 8 out of 10 is good enough. That's not a huge difference, but it seems that you can't just show up and do it once.

    Dowsing for water?

I went through the forum list of challengers on the JREF site looking for dowser. There were a few applicants in that category but only one that claimed to find water and pipelines. He dropped out for reasons unknown. I think that one lived in Germany, not that that matters. After reading the...

    Dowsing for water?

My Dad and I drilled three wells, all dry. Then I ran across an article on dowsing, made some rods, and gave it a try. We hit water on the first try. Several years later a friend wanted to give me a 'proper' well since I'd helped him out. Witched that one and almost missed the water. We were...

    Dowsing for water?

My first set had wood handles. Used pieces of broom handle drilled out the long way, but they didn't work well. I think there was too much friction where the rod bends over the top. This set with the copper handles is very free swinging.

    Dowsing for water?

Here's the set of rods I made. Brazing rods from the welding store, and the handles are also from the welding store. Not sure what they are supposed to be, but they had several sizes in bins. Maybe they are for crimping splices into welding cables? I witched both of my wells, at about 70 feet...

    Cheap GPS

I relied on my Etrex for long range navigation, but I had to be at my destination to put in the waypoint. It was good for getting there the second time, but the first time I had to find it the old fashioned way. I follow roads.

Anyone with experience in a Cessna AGwagon???

The nose in no way restricts visibility, in fact visibility is way more than most people are used to in flight. I usually wheel land a 188, just because. Seems easier that way. Left turning tendency is going to be way more than your 170, both when the throttle comes up and when the tail comes...

Anyone with experience in a Cessna AGwagon???

I have quite a bit of time in the various models of A-188. Like any other ag plane, they're easy to fly and have no nasty habits. For your first flight you'll want to get a clear picture of the ground attitude so you'll know what looks right for landing. The gear is tall and stiff. Loaded...
