    Airlines that scare the tar out of you

    Alitalia, 1970, DC9-10 Venice to Rome. Heavy fog took the runway stopped parked the brakes then brought both engines up to takeoff power before brake release. Rotated just before the red lights, with nothing but really polluted water on the other side. Ron

    Proposed Piper AD

    Just checked a friends 1966 PA32-260. By the looks of it both U-joints are original and both sprocket shafts are flush with the sprocket. Unless the shafts were incorrectly manufactured kind of hard to see how the sprocket shaft is not fully engaged in the U-joint. Will call Piper monday. Ron

    Alternatives to Gaston's

    Can't speak to the accommodations at Rough River as we have never spent the night. But we have flown over for Sunday brunch on several occasions. We have never been disappointed nor gone away hungry. The staff is attentive and the restaurant clean. Ron
