    Off-Topic: POC radios?

This place is LOADED with tech wizzes, so thought I'd come here looking for some non-aviation help. I have a team that uses walkie talkies in the plant (and it is noisy). I need a way to dial into meetings on the shop floor remotely and communicate with the team. This is a series of...

Dan Gets It Right - Graphic Crash

Other than the fact that the guy is a moron who speaks like an authority and yet is completely clueless? Other than that, I don't know why people who pride themselves as being responsible pilots would take offence at this clueless windbag speaking for pilots as if he has any idea of what he speaks.

Dan Gets It Right - Graphic Crash

Yeah, that was a special kind of stupid. At least the balance of the craptastic video met the standard he set with that bit of stupidity.

figure it's a crazy idea, but what ya think?

Once I'm back in the US and on same time zone, I'll do that. Let me know if you become aware of one with a day or two of Piet flying speeds.

figure it's a crazy idea, but what ya think?

Go to be relocating back to the US from overseas from June through end of the year. Will likely be living in Fort Myers, FL. I haven't flown anything but ultralights for last 10 years while living in Hong Kong but have 400 hrs SEL in 172, Mooney and Velocity aircraft. So crazy idea is as...

    Blackfly evtol

Just curious if anyone else finds the concept here as fascinating as I do. I love the redundancy and lack of moving parts. Vertical takeoff with rotation to forward wing supported / lower drag flight with no moving parts and fairly easily shrouded propellers seems a pretty winning combination...

DME died - do NOT recommend GPS

I LOVE the KNS-80 ... the first time I ever actually felt comfortable knowing exactly where I was on a long cross country as a 100 hour pilot (back in the 90s). I also remember when I lost both my KLN-94 and hand held GPS at around 300 hrs of experience over the Everglades and didn't have the...

    Retire to Airport Community?

14A? I flew out of there for a few years back in early 2000s ... loved that airpark. I'd never considered an airpark until flying out of Lake Norman and it's never left my thoughts since.

For Sale 1966 Airworthy Cessna 150 for sale - pilot recently passed, widow selling

Beautiful plane. Maybe its just me, but the older I get, the more beautiful I find these older Cessnas. As a kid, I really didn't like these ugly 70s clap traps. Now I look at them and think, "that's a beautiful plane".

NA - Training a dog not to bark

This ... I use an empty peanut bottle with a handful of coins. Shake it when they bark, they (at least my last 3 dogs) really don't like it.

    Anyone Flying a Velocity V-Twin?

The windows are plexiglass fit into fiberglass door frames. You'd need a pretty big hammer to pound your way out. They are not going to shatter.

    Anyone Flying a Velocity V-Twin?

I LOVED my Velocity and had one off-field landing in it. Speed management wasn't too much of an issue (stops FAST in a wheat field). Lack of turn to final stall concern allowed me to parallel a line of trees and pull a 60 degree bank to drop into a small wheat field. Then again, if I was in a...

Microsoft Fiight Sim is back......in 2020

My experience is different (wasn't 13, got PPL first, etc) but agree completely that there is a lot of value add in using sims as you've described. I flew the Airventure arrival a dozen times on the sim before flying for real. Used Google Earth overlay so I could pick out Rush Lake as I...

Can you PM me any contact info or know where I can find out about the guy? If nothing else, I need to start making some connections.

    Gen Av in Philippines

Having lived and worked in Asia for a bit over a decade, I know how difficult it is for me to deal with "fees". I can manage the business, I can manage the people, I can manage the suppliers, but interactions with government are really frustrating. Makes for a nice dream, but not sure it is in...
