Log on to CSC DUATS and select "Area" from the "Weather Briefing" "Standard Briefing" box. This will allow you to select weather information for aviation sites within up to 100 NM radius from any airport/navaid.

Why is it "too far to go VFR only"? I have flown "VFR only" from Seattle to Dallas without a problem. KAID > KILM is 560 NM via Victor airways. It should only be one ot two stops in a 182. Just plan the flight and fly the plan.

If your baffles are correctly installed, the air is forced through the cooling fins around the cylinders and then goes out the bottom of the engine compartment. There should be very little air "hitting" the firewall.

I grew up in Spokane Washington, near Fairchild AFB. I remember ih high school the teachers had to stop talking when the B36s and the B52s came over on approach to Fairchild.
