Congrats! Not sure where you are, but if you can safely get that ticket wet this time of the year, do it! And file as often as possible on CAVU days. :cheers:
 
In retrospect my instrument training was super fun. During, it was super difficult, and I didn't have enough room in my head to memorize everything. It was like trying to push an elephant into a Volkswagen... if I pushed really hard to get everything in, I felt like I was pushing something else out.

The flying was great, the great feeling when you had the radios fast and everything right on the money was special.

Filing on CAVU days is absolutely key for a new IR pilot IMO. The more you get acquainted with the system, the more you'll be prepped for when the weather is low.
