Hi there,

I'm a newbie and am building a plane with an old-school RV pilot. He told me that wiring has changed a lot since he tinkered with RV planes and we've been looking around. I'm wondering if any of you have experience with WireMasters who provides mil spec wiring and cable. It looks as good as any to me but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with them.

Thanks!

No, but I seem to recall other builders have used them. Personally I prefer to buy from aviation specific sources to help support the community, particularly the smaller operations like these:

Of course you can also get electrical supplies from the big guys like Aircraft Spuce.
For non-wire stuff like d-sub, CPC and other misc but non-aviation things I like Mouser and Digikey.

Steinair is pretty good. Excellent service, good prices.

Just doing simple airframe wiring that will go into a non harsh environment I typically buy MS22759/16-AWG from Aircraft Spruce.

I did buy some high temp 8AWG from Wire Masters. The guys at work suggested them for the hard to find stuff. They had a minimum order of about $100, it wasn't wildly overpriced. They sell to the airline I work for.

Wiremasters is more for bulk or specialty. I too have bought some heavy gauge high temp from them.
