Will GTX345 Slide in to Replace a 335?

Would swapping these two units between planes be as simple as reprogramming and sliding into the others place?

could be....check the install manual with your installed configuration. They share the same manual. Often times installers will have two RS 232 (in/out) to a GNS like box to exchange data (GPS, display graphic data....). Depending on what it's paired with it could be using a pair of ARINC 429 data links (not as capable as the RS 232). Either way....I believe the pinouts (connector) is identical.
 
according to garmins website for the 345:

No. The 345 has an additional connector on it for high speed data bus. Is it a difficult swap? No.
 
No. The GTX 345 has a second connector that provides the ADS-B IN data.
