You built an aircraft of your own design, 100% ready to fly, and placed a C-leters on it.

Would FSDO even give it a second look?

What if.....You built the Death Star.... And put an N number on it???

Or "what if" you built an aircraft of your own design....and put any flipping number on it you wanted.???? And fly it....

Think of the possibilities......

How long do you think you could fly without anyone noticing?? Probably long enough until you don't want to fly anymore.

Prolly not...I'd hope the NTSB wouldn't either...

Ha... ALL of Tom's what if's make me laugh...

Some are meant to.

Other's not so much.

Think about it. the only time in resent years that the FAA would check is when there is an accident or a violation. or when you try to gain a certificate in it.

I believe you could get away with it for years if you did not draw attention to your self.

I am sure someone could slide through the cracks for years,, if not decades..

I have known people to fly for years on less than a student certificate, and planes that have flown years out of annual. Seems like they were only caught after an accident.

I knew of one person, not in the lower 48, that over hauled the engine on his PA-14. His mechanical experience comes from fixing his own 4 wheelers and snow machines...

So yes, I also believe a person could go years before any action was taken.

I wouldn't go with a Canadian number, I would go with something much cooler like from

Denmark
OY-VEY

or Fiji
DQ-MMM

Finland
OH-HAI

Germany
D-UUDE

Hungary
HA-TER

Mali
TZ-BRO

Moldova
ER-ECT

Portugal
CR-ASH

Serbia
YU-SUK

Each of those would probably draw attention. some one would run the numbers and go "Hey look at this"

It would be a snitch that gets you, that's how a large part of the pilot community works these days.

That'd be the whole point with keeping a low profile.

Depends on if someone tries to assess an address to send a bill for taxes or fees and looks up to find a fraudulent registration. At that point there will likely be enough alphabet agents to give you an alphabet soup enema.

If you put Russian numbers on it, they wouldn't get scat.
