I knocked out 1.5 hours on my OSHA 30 and then spent the next 4 hours researching generators for my bus.

Played roadside assistance at 5:30 am. Sister had a drywall screw in her tire, so big brother to the rescue. Told her my after hours emergency rate is $135, which just so happens to be the exact amount of my half of the father's day gift.

did that work? and did your Dad let you get away with that?

Gonna let it simmer for a bit. Felt weird giving her money while doing my brotherly duties

Did about 80 miles or so on on the ATVs and then took April Knievel to the ER to cap the day's ride.
Not too serious, I hope?

On the trail we thought it was 2 broken wrists, plus neck and back injury. After we got her out and to the ER, everything turned out negative, unless the radiologist finds something they missed on second look. Just reall bad sprains and swelling.

Always wear a full face/motocross helmet. She said she slid for 30 feet on her face, but not a single scratch in that area.

Super lucky. Glad it wasn't worse. Has me rethinking my own all terrain driving. You'd think the number of memorials I pass would have been enough.

She said she's not done riding. It's one of her favorite things and happened on one of her favorite trails. It was sandy terrain the caused it, but sandy terrain that saved it. If it would have been on some of the rocky or tree dense trails we had been on earlier, oof. She'll be back on it, just not this weekend, or month.

I feel her pain. 7 weeks since my accident and still have pain, discomfort and bruises. But I am old so recovery will take longer than someone much younger. Hope nothing turns up on the second look.

Sometimes the soft tissue injuries linger longer than broken bones.

Good to hear. I just need to slow down on the logging roads. There's no need to go 70. Just hard for me not to in the UTV.

Ain't that the truth!
Docs will say, "Well, nothing broken or out of place or loose; you're good to go"
Then, years of pain, loss of function!
We could have a huge thread on pain experiences and pain control treatments in this forum I believe.

Went to the gym, rode in 12 g 22 winds, ate a burger, and commented about the toughness of a cookie that April is.

Finished installing the upper cowling d’shannon baffle kit. Grind, fit, grind, repeat. Many hours were spent getting them fit correctly.

 The sister I was referring to is due a few months before me, so they wouldn't be for her, exactly!

Did you miss that? You're behind the times! ;) We're expecting a little addition to join us before the end of January next year. :)
Congratulations!! I think I missed it. Big project at work has me very distracted.

Let me know if you need a babysitter. They call me the Baby Whisperer at church. :)

Ms GoFly could probably be talked into baby duty, and she is only 20 miles or so down the road
We still need to have you both over for lunch or supper one of these days to show off our new house! Maybe in a month or two when my ability to cook and clean is more predictable again? Right now the house and our diet both look like I spent the last month on the couch moving as little as possible.

Not aviation related, but our offer to buy our first home was approved today. So, in aviation related news, I now have even less money to fly...
Ok, so apparently I have flying money again. After almost everything else was done, there was one thing left to take care of and we were coming up on our closing date, so we filed for an extension. The sellers didn't sign it in time, so the deal fell through.

Blazing hot flight back from 6Y9. April is wondering where we can come into a quick half mil so we can move into a pressurized, air-conditioned airframe.

Also, See the shame thread.

You could always offer to sell ATVs, but I’m guessing that slapping you silly would delay healing of her wrists. ;)

Cousins college graduation. So I got to drink with college kids again. And they got to see what a pro drinker looks like. Not one could handle a single shot of malort. Amateurs.

Good: Attached a new windscreen fairing I've been working on for a while.

Bad: Fodded my cockpit with a small RE magnet I was using to temporarily hold said fairing.

I wonder if I can find a hiking compass around here.

Nauga,
fluxed up

Flew out of Trenton Mercer this morning, handled several in air routing changes with grace and aplomb. Those two ladies really make me look good.

Decided to be a masochist and wear my full leather jacket while torching. Somehow a spark made it behind the collar down to my belt. Not even thinking I pulled my belt from my stomach. Spark continued it's vertical descent and now have a tiny burn on my junk.
