And what are your goals for 2010?

I had no 2009 goals, and bought a plane. Not a whole heck of a lot of hours flown (55 or so), didn't fly until May, and lost a month to add some stuff to the plane.

2010 goals: North Dakota, Alaska.

2009
Got my commercial Glicer Lic... err Cert
flew the glider a bunch
Got my silver Badge

2010
Power Commercial
CFI-G?
Work on the Gold Badge
Maybe enter a glider contest

And what are your goals for 2010?

I'd be happy if I could fly more 10 hours in 2010. Work, weather, and
caring for elderly parents drastically curtailed my flying hours in 2009.

I'd love to fly enough that it would make sense to get an IPC.

Not a whole lot in 2009--
Bought a house which took a lot of the year to get through.
Worked.

Next year shall be better...

i did a little instruction, signed off a few checkrides, landed out a few times, halfway rebuilt my trailer, bought another glider, and started recovering my glider. next year hopefully flying a contest, gold altitude/distance, get leah her certificate, keep having fun.

Spent too much money and flew too little.

Goal is to spend too much money and fly more.

2009
- Got checked out to fly my club's T-34s and flew about 5 hours (so far)
- Finished my Embry-Riddle Masters in Aeronautical Science
- Went on my first POA weekend fly-in trip
- Lots of CAP flying

2010
- Fly the T-34 as much as possible before the club disbands at the end of the year
- Finish my Commercial
- Break 1000 hrs

2009:
Flew to NYC and Boston areas for the first time
Broke 50hrs total time in the 182RG
Ended up with a little over 50 hrs for the year

2010:
Get involved with the CAF at FFC
Get involved with the RV guys at FFC
Try to get Comm. done finally and maybe start on CFI
Make it to Wings
Make it to 6Y9

Let's see, my 2009 goals:

1) Buy/take delivery on my plane - COMPLETE January 2009. Actually, the negotiations started in December, I signed the papers in the first couple days of January. Bought the Aztec and haven't regretted it once. It's been a great plane to me, and what's even better is how it's steadily improved with time and the little maintenace items I've done on it.
2) Get CP-AMEL - COMPLETE March 31st. I told my instructor I needed to get my checkride and one good first flight out of it, and then we'd put it into annual (wasn't technically due until May, but we wanted to do it early as there were a lot of little things that needed attention). Did the checkride, then flew up to get dinner with a friend. Surprised her when I showed up in the Aztec and she was expecting the Mooney. Put the plane into annual the next day.
3) Get CP-ASEL - COMPLETE February 28th in the Mooney
4) Get CFI - COMPLETE September... 8th? What a pain that was, and on my list of "things I never want to do again."
5) Get CFII - FAILED despite Tony's repeated hounding - next year! But MEI comes first!
6) Get MEI - FAILED despite my repeated hounding - next year! First major goal I want to do
7) Fly plane mentioned in 1) to West Fly-In, Gaston's, Wings, 6Y9 - COMPLETE/FAILED. West fly-in never happened, made Gaston's, made Wings, missed 6Y9 (really important dog flight), and made WV62. I'll make 6Y9 next year!
8) Continue working with Animal Rescue Flights (and hopefully get others to participate) - COMPLETE and then some!
9) Get started working with Angel Flight - COMPLETE joined in May

Additionally, at this point I've flown over 300 hours this year (looking like 350 or so by the end of 2009), and passed 500 TT (started off at 225). Doubt I'll hit 600 this year, but there's always next year. :)

A month after passing my CFI, I signed off my first student, who passed his private. Way to go, Allan!

I'll also note that, through various means, I met a number of PoAers all over the country. PoA is a great group, and it's always fun to get together with other members, be it at a fly-in or just when we happen to be in the same area.

Lastly, it's no secret that I started Cloud Nine Rescue Flights, which has been growing steadily. Yesterday I received word that we got our first grant application approved (woohoo!). So far 8 flights have been done since late August, with two more scheduled before year's end. I think next year is going to see some significant growth happening, which I'm excited about.

Goals for 2010:

1) Get MEI
2) Get CFII
3) Continue growing Cloud Nine Rescue Flights
4) Attend Wings, Gaston's, 6Y9, and WV62

2009:
Flew different aircraft (diamond , piper Cherokee)
became a non-equity partner in a 67 C172-H and have flown much
more because of it.
Attended the Wings BBQ and made Windwood WV flyin
Made my longest XC flight
Hopefully will break 100 Hrs TT (3.8 to go!)

2010:
Welcome new baby to family sometime in late January!
Start studying for the Instrument and take written by summer
complete my first Flight Review in June

hopefully I will get to attend another flyin, but have to see how the year goes with the baby and my twin 5 yr olds. They like to fly with me, so we will be going for trips often!

Apparently, I deleted my goals from last year when I was being retarded early in the year.

I can guarantee you that I did not hit my goals, but I accomplished a lot:

Got Engaged
Flew to Las Vegas on Vacation.
Moved away from my deadbeat roommate
Got a new job that pays a lot more money
Not that I had a problem with it, but essentially stopped drinking (I drink maybe one or two beers every 3 or 4 months now).

Of course, I only racked up about 10 hours flying :( I still haven't bought another airplane, and all the money I had saved up to do so is now spent elsewhere. Someday.

Goals for 2010:
1. Fly a decent amount of hours for Christsakes.
2. Begin to rebuild the airplane buying fund
3. Stay married.
4. Attend at least one fly in (not gonna be Gastons, unfortunately).

1. Fly a decent amount of hours for Christsakes.

Don't you first have to get married? :)

2009: Bought my first airplane.
2010: Get my instrument rating. Build lots of hours so I can work on my commercial hours requirement.

2010:

Complete my commercial single.
Possibly start my multi training.
Oh and fly more!

2009: Goals: IA, got it
Flew about 200 hours
Learned to fly in the mountains, made a couple mountain flights
2010: Goals: Mexico flight but not to sure about this eAPIS and the $5,000 fine.
maybe a Caribbean flight
maybe a commercial check ride
maybe make it back to 6Y9 - long way to go but it's a nice destination
maybe we should really organize a POA west fly-in for July or August? I suspect we could arrange cheap (relatively) fuel and hangar space at FTG. The ramp space should be cheap, no doubt about it. Not as interesting as some locations but not so bad in terms of accommodation. And if FTG won't give a break, go somewhere cheap for tie-down. Other folks in the area have lots of space and self-serve fuel. Platte Valley might be an option.

2009
Goal was to finally get PP-ASEL

Watched it rain all of April/May
Watched it rain 27 of 32 days in June/July
Observed the sunny days with the 20/25kt gusts
September: heard my CFI say, "You're just about there."
Watched him being busy transitioning float planes to wheels
October/November: More rain, below minimums, or high winds
During the year: new engine for the Austin Healey.
new engine for the boat.
December: CFI available on 03/04.
Forget 03; heavy rain forecast; scheduled for 04 at 10:00 am.

2010
Give regular thanks boat and sports car are mechanically sound.
Pray for better weather.
PP-ASEL: Git 'er done!
Fly me arse off!

In the first quarter of 2009, we flew to the Texas Gulf Coast multiple times, looking at properties. In the second three quarters, as the economy and travel industry continued to collapse, not so much. Just local burger flights for the most part -- although we did attend our 27th consecutive OSH Airventure.

We've reluctantly decided to put Sweetie (our '48 Ercoupe) on the market. The rationale for owning her (to have something for the kids to fly) hasn't panned out, and it's just stupid to have a plane that sits...

We're keeping the Pathfinder, though.

2010 HAS to be a better year... :yesnod:

2009:
Attended my first Gastons, Oshkosh, 6Y9
Joined a new flying club
Had my hours/wage cut at work.
Because of lack of money went to inactive member at my flying club.

2010:
Hope to get my hours/wage back to normal.
Reactivate my club membership
Fly again.
Attend Gaston, Oshkosh and 6Y9 again.

I can't complain about 2009,
1. Flew to three fly-ins.
2. Bought airplane #3.
3. Sold airplane #3
4. Bought airplane #4.
5. Flew 25+ hours.
6. Got to fly Kim's bird dog.
7. Went to Diana's 29th birthday party, again.

So over all, pretty good year.

2010 Goals.
1. Make the Gaston's fly-in.
2. Make Sun-n-Fun.
3. Make Diana's 29th birthday party.

Worked my tail off for a promotion that came to fruition this past April.

My goal for 2010 is to use some of the almost 200 hours of vacation I have "banked".

2009

Got healthy and got my medical back (recovered from prostate cancer and a pulmonary embolism)
Lost my Dad
Traveled on business (nothing new there)
Enjoyed my sabbatical (employer benefit) and traveled to Europe, Asia and Africa (OK, eastern Med, but all three continents border it)
Flew too little. (riding in airliners is not flying, only the two guys up front are flying)

2010

Finally get my IR!!!
Travel some more (business and vacation)
Fly more
Clean up the boat and either sail or sell it.

2009 - start training

2010 - complete PP license & build hours. Hopefully a couple trips to see my folks in the plane. :)

George

2009:
Got my PP-SEL
Went to first Oshkosh in 10 years or so

2010:
Get Sport Pilot CFI
Start instrument training
Take instrument written
Fly to Oshkosh
Fly to Florida for Family Vacation

LaPorte, IN....that was my first out of state cross country trip.

2009 - kept flying job

2010 - keep flying job

seriously, this years highlights:

-added single engine ATP (company insurance request for the PC-12)
-flew trips to the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos
-had to declare a medical emergency halfway to the Bahamas - passenger with seizure, very scary, but turned out OK.
-made it to Oshkosh for the first time after 25 years of flying

2010
-do more personal flying with the family
-get back to Oshkosh
-break the 7000 hour mark

2009 - kept flying job

2010 - keep flying job
I'm right with you there!

This has been a really quiet flying year for me. I think I'll end the year with less than 200 hours which is something that hasn't happened, ever, at least since I've been getting paid for it. I guess that can be seen as either good or bad. :dunno:

From my Flight Journal...."Goals for 2009 - Expanding our flights west of Pennsylvania and finish up the North East States(ME,VT,NH)."

Well, we made multiple trips southwest of Pennsylvania, two to Texas (DWH, T31 & PSN). Between the two Texas trips we added a few new states; MS, AL, TN, KY, WV. We also knocked out the rest of the North East; ME, VT, NH including CT that seemed to elude us despite trips to Block Island and Nantucket.

2009 Highlights
- 104.3 hours in the log book (3 months off due to hip replacement)
- Speaking of Hips; finally replaced my worn out parts
- Took the plunge, bought a 1980 Beech Sundowner
- Attended the Wings FlyBQ
- Sold off my room for Gastons...Attending is still on my to do list

2010 Wish List
- Complete my IR checkride before my written expires (October 2010)
- Attend 6Y9 - No problems with grass now, bought our own plane!
- Attend BAC Fest in San Antonio Texas
- Try to break the 500 total hour mark
- Get started with ARF flights

Flew the F-24, 11 hours, passed my medical, passed my BFR, rebuilt 5 engines and completed 14 annuals, plus home work, cleared the space for the new shop, to be built next summer, and bought a new to us Motor home.

-Lost my "real" job, but made lemonade out of that situation by using the free time early in the year to do a lot of work on the glider restoration. Cost me some money, what with no income and all, but it was worth it. Sure beat the hell out of going out to do fruitless job interviews. :D No regrets about that.

-Soloed the darn thing, finally. Didn't fly as often as I'd have liked, but it was a pretty good season for me.

-Didn't do the PP-G checkride yet, but December isn't over...

-Decorated not one but two L-19s, and got to fly one of them.

-Got a Stearman ride, in formation with one of the planes I painted.

-Flew a Pazmany PL-2... and also got a little more Citabria time.

-Got back into freelancing... very happy I did, and things are improving for me. I'd still rather get paid to fly or work on airplanes, but for now it's paying the bills.

2010 wish list (some 2009 leftovers):

-Get the PP-G (yeah, it probably won't happen this month).

-Give lots of rides in the 2-33.

- Start flying the 1-26, and try to use its full potential.

-Start flying backseat in the club's Citabria during tows, to learn more about that.

-Get an airplane, or a share in an airplane... or at least start renting again. Getting a little stick time here and there is a lot of fun, but I miss being acting PIC (in powered aircraft). Never intended to give it up permanently, after all...

-Finish my simpit, or at least do some work on it, LOL.

-Get my IATSE card and start working a lot more, and for more money... that might make all of the above more do-able. :D

Hmmm... I guess I didn't post any goals for 2009. Probably 'cuz I'd been out of a job for 5 months at the end of 2008. :dunno:

2009:
* Flew a measly 42 or so hours so far. :( That's about 100 hours below my average for the previous 4 years.
* Got a job. That'll help.
* Joined a second flying club. Still in Capitol City Flyers at KMSN, now also a member of Green Castle Aero Club at IA24. Very cool little place...
* Got checked out in Green Castle's Arrow I, meaning I've now "hit for the cycle" on Arrows: I have about 60 hours in Arrow III, 10 or so in Arrow IV, a couple in an Arrow II and now 1.0 in the Arrow I. (I-IV are PA28R-180, -200, -201, and PA28RT-201.)
* Started actually trying to get my tailwheel endorsement instead of just flying around with others in cool tailwheel airplanes. This is in an ooooooold 7ECA Citabria at Green Castle. I still hope to finish by the end of the year.

For 2010:
* Get a job that's not driving a truck, and/or go back to school. 23 credits left to an Electrical Engineering degree.
* Fly more.
* Get CFI rating to help me fly more if I go back to school.
* Finish the tailwheel if I don't get it done in 2009.
* Sell the Archer and get a DA40 bought for the club at KMSN.
* Try to get ever closer to buying my own airplane.

Good: More time off.

Bad: Ted is catching up to you on total time.

Finishing catching up may take a while. ;)

Congratulations! Do they still do the water salute?

My last revenue flight was back in April, so no fanfare for me ( I prefer it that way). I have been taking some time off and was scheduled to go back to be trained on a different aircraft. I called my CP Tuesday and informed him I would go ahead and retire.:drink:

I've been offered a new job so I won't be idle much longer.

2009:
Started Flight training.
got my hours up to 30.8, just 9.2 short of the FAA Minimums.
Safely Completed my first solo, and short Solo XC.

2010:
Get my Private Pilot Licence.
Get my PIC hours to 200 so I can become a CAP Pilot.
Get 250 hours for a Commercal Rating.
Get my Tailwheel Rating.
Start Instrument training.
