Well, she flies better than Jerry...

I watched this video and still can't figure out if this a simulator and their using Vatsim (or whatever the online ATC is called), or is this a real flight? Gotta be vatsim, right???

It's a real plane. You can see her better in some of their other videos:

as long as it doesn't devolve into another Jessica Dubroff situation, I'd say keep having fun with it.

Or interfere with other aircraft trying to use the same airspace.

Sometimes young kids voices are hard to understand on the radio.

I read a story once, can't confirm it, about Bill Lear.

Seems he was flying one of his jets when ATC informed him he had wandered into restricted airspace. ATC told him to hold current heading and 2 fighter type aircraft would escort him out of the airspace. So Mr. Lear set the auto pilot, then sat his 4 year old granddaughter in the pilots seat and instructed her that when the other airplanes show up to wave at the nice men.

Then he went to the back seat to watch the pilots expression on their faces when they looked inside the Lear jet....

Seems like that would result in a second violation. 91.105

well at least I can appreciate the hilarity of that story, true or not.

Guess this was too fun for the pilots on the internet. Almost all videos got deleted.
One of the fun-reporters probably got their hands on it.

An awful lot of aviation YouTubers get to visit their local FSDO when some student pilot somewhere reports the tiniest of perceived "violations".

I want to write a scathing note about the hubris and ignorance of those type of reporters, but one of those same type of reporters provided the catalyst for meeting my husband, so...I'm conflicted.

The FAA ought to adopt a policy of not accepting complaints based on internet videos, unless the complainant provides, at the time of the complaint, documentation that the video is original, unprocessed and unedited, and occurred within the FAA’s jurisdiction, as well as proving the identity of the “offender”. If some basement-dwelling video game player is going to complain about real pilots doing real pilot stuff (like calling “clear the runway” while the tail light hadn’t quite crossed the hold-short), then they should have to do the work.
