So funny. Also funny how Kirk's uniform was earth toned and would blend in with the rocks while the uniforms of the others were high visibility red. Hmmmm.... wonder why?
Because the inter-galactic chicks dig it.

Shall we talk about how dumb having a "brig" on a vessel is that people have to be walked to it, instead of transported directly into it when they misbehave? Or how it's utterly impossible that any vessel of that size wouldn't have at least a small percentage of the crew there awaiting Captain's Mast on a daily basis, even though it only has two holding cells and nobody is ever in any of them?

I always thought Star Trek would be more realistic if they had an episode where Kirk and Spock sipped on some space coffee and said, "What do you want to do today?", " I dunno, what do you want to do today?"

You are assuming a vessel that size only has one brig

You are forgetting how much more advanced Mankind will be. Also, a Starship would be for elite crew.

Advanced mankind selecting an elite crew via standardized testing graded with a diversity curve. Cause that is the way forward right?

No discussion of diversity curve in any episode involving starfleet academy or crew selection/fitness - at least none that I recall.

While reading the paper and passing wind.

No, but depending on which sources you believe, Roddenberry and/or NBC intentionally made the crew racially diverse when planning the series.

I personally suspect Roddenberry because he had no hesitation to use the show as a vehicle to express his own beliefs and commentary about society. But then again, NBC had recently implemented color (as in color TV) across its entire network, so maybe that had something to do with it (as well as the brightly- and inconsistently-colored uniform shirts).

It's just too bad that the US doesn't follow the Prime Directive and not interfere with primitive cultures here on Earth.

Starfleet had to learn that the hard way...several times before the Prime Directive was created. The Vulcans tried to tell them ahead of time, but they wouldn't listen. This is discussed in ST: Enterprise.
