Another thing to love about Wisconsin - They can't. They have the option of having a 0.5% sales tax for the county that's collected by the state, and most do. Counties surrounding Milwaukee and Green Bay have 0.1% additional for stadium funding. They did finally let Milwaukee County take an additional 2% a couple years ago but that's an anomaly. State sales tax is 5%, so in most counties not near Milwaukee or Green Bay it's 5.5% total, while my county (NW of MKE) is at 5.6%... Which, compared to our "Friendly Illinois Brethren" to the south is quite reasonable!
