We had some wonderful benign IMC in IL this morning, so I flew to KSLO to get some $3.85 gas, shoot an approach, and add a pin to my map. Nice neat little airport with what appears to be a private residence with it's back door opening up to the ramp. I was super jealous.
Flanked on either side by old bowstring truss hangars bigger than the house, and complete with a rideable beacon in the back yard.
Anyway got 3 loggable approaches; 1 RNAV and 2 VOR, a hold, an old fashioned "turn ten, twist ten" arc, and about an hour of actual, all without the autopilot. I was worried currency would become a chore, but so far I'm still enjoying it.
