This Q has come up before, and I have struggled with it before, but I now have a clear and realistic vision:
Sling High Wing with:
- Turbotech turbine engine (the one they just put into SuperCub).
- 60 gal fuel tanks
- BRS

For pure enjoyment of aerial views, and photography, there is no strut, and you can go to remote areas (Alaska...) and not worry about safety because of the turbine reliability and BRS backup.
It will be very efficient, especially up high.
Presumably, it will be very low maintenance, and most of it can be done by the owner.
And, of course, the avionics.

What is the best shoe?
Kind of depends on what you need to do with it.

Nauga,
and his Red Ball Jets
Agreed. Not saying this would be the best plane for everyone, but it could be the best plane for the highest percentage of pilots.

Best airplane? The one you can afford to fly and maintain without making a significant dent in your disposable income.
...except if the airplane itself is generating income.
(OK, I guess you could argue that's a bulge rather than a dent)

Didn't we math out that these things are burning like 8gph? I think this is the twin for the ma$$e$ :D
As I recall, the OP has a "VFR Forever" tattoo somewhere. Might make things interesting when it comes time for the AMEL checkride and/or the insurance quote. Or will it?

one of my barons has a partner with no IR. It can be done. :)

It's definitely not $miled upon by the underwriters though. I think us two MEIs are 4 grand a year and he adds 5. Enough to buy an IR or two, but... :dunno:

The best food is peanut butter. Prove me wrong.
Go over to the BBQ thread, and look at what @Sac Arrow is eating for dinner. It makes me hungry every time, and I haven't seen any peanut butter yet. Case closed.

That said, "the best airplane" is 100% always the airplane that I'm currently in. No matter what it is, it's better than some other airplane sitting in a hangar somewhere.
