    2 hours tonight

There is NOTHING out there, I mean coyotes and jackpumps.
No town, no buildings, not even a charted road.

    WTH could it be?

Anyway, they know I am the only one to fly out there (20+ years of going back and forth along that magenta line) - it's basically preordained as My Airspace, so what do they think they are doing??

Fire, SAR or something going on out there. Could also be some sort of high risk FBI take down or the likes with high bird ops for surveillance or comms.

I couldn't find a lat/long or other specific position for that TFR to see if there's anything on Google Earth at the center of it.

    edit:

    Duhhh...

I have seen those pop up in the neighborhood; typically circular climb/descent corridors for the drones. A semi-permanent one exists beside KSJT for that purpose.
Could be something else, though. Bezos and the rocket hobbyists close airspace in far W Texas, but they typically go unlimited.

    That’s not a TFR, it’s a crop circle.

On the other hand the gubmint IS shut down, maybe the FBI or CIA or DEA (pick the TLA of your choice) needs money and they're running some "goods" in from a Southern vendor..... I notice they're doing the exact same thing again tomorrow from 8 PM to Midnight local time.

So I don't know about the TFR, but look at that ranch on google earth at the TFR southern border, the one with the unusable airfield...very weird: lots of vehicles, airfield looks paved and still very usable, many unusual buildings, perimeter fence all around. Perhaps this is just a "southern Texas thing", but seems suspicious to me.

so if there is no access to the site and no infrastructure for a mile, I say they are dropping bombs.

Standard S Texas ranch. Lots of stupid money in that area, and people with ranch houses to go trekking/hunting et al. I flew that low-level route all the time during my -38 days (5 out my 8 years) at DLF. VR-1108 corridor cuts right over your coords, I've zoomed that ranch more times than I can remember.

Ah ok...and now that I look at the airstrip, I see the reason for all the cars: if you look close, the airstrip is covered in orange cones...its been turned into some kind of driving/racing course.

I think that one car looks like a police car. I bet they have the runway set up for police training when that picture was taken.

    So, security for them?
    Or protection for their drone?
Trying to figure the 5nm/20K into that

No, the TFR wasn't over that ranch...the ranch was south of the TFR. I don't know why there was a TFR, but maybe an oil well fire? Oil wells and scrub seem to be the only thing where the TFR was located.

The TFR said "security". Someone mentioned POTUS visiting the border soon. I wonder if SS or other agency will be using that as some sort of staging area?

We get a few TFRs for gas pipeline venting. But those TFRs usually only go up to 3000 AGL.
