At the bottom of this post is a list of all the organizations whose members receive a discounted ticket price for SNF. You will see that SNF had the audacity, the unmitigated gall, to leave POA off the list! Obviously, we cannot let this go unchallenged. When you go to the ticket booth, insist upon your rightful discount as a POA member. (And if it doesn't work, your pilot's license will get you the discount anyway.) Let them know that, like Glenn Close, we will not be ignored! =============================================== Academy of Model Aeronautics – AMA Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association – AOPA Air Line Pilots Association Int’l – ALPA Allied Pilot Association – APA Antique Airplane Association – AAA Canadian Owners & Pilots Association – COPA Civil Air Patrol, Florida Wing – CAP Commemorative Air Force – CAF Experimental Aircraft Association – EAA Florida Air Museum (Aerospace Discovery @ the FAM) Florida Antique Biplane Association – FABA Florida Cub Flyers – FCF Florida Sport Aviation Antique and Classic Association – FSAACA National Association of Flight Instructors – NAFI National Business Aviation Association – NBAA OX-5 Aviation Pioneers – OX5 Quiet Birdman, Inc. – QB’s Retired Airline Pilots of Canada – RAPC Seaplane Pilots Association – SPA Silver Wings Fraternity – SWF Society of Aviation and Flight Educators – SAFE The Ninety-Nines, Inc. / The Friends of the Ninety-Nines – 99’s Ultralight Pilots Association of Canada – UPAC U.S. Power Paraglider Association – USPPA U.S. Ultralight Association – USUA Warbirds of America – WBA Women in Aviation – WIA
Contact said organization for their code for an online purchase or show your credentials at the ticket booth if you buy at the show. It’s like a $5 discount so I wish it was cumulative across organizations.
In the past I just showed my EAA card or my pilot's license at the ticket booth. I suppose we'll need POA membership cards....
I'm quite confident that you and the rest of the MC are working hard to rectify this tragic oversight. What progress are you making?
Just show them the POA tattoo on the bottom of your foot. Mine used to say "Andy" but I had it changed. Ron "To Florida (but not beyond)" Wanttaja
EAA members have always received a discount at the ticket booth...like $10 per day discount. If you stay several days, you should join EAA. I don't know if they honor more than one discount...probably not. I suspect if someone wants to rent a display booth for the entire event, they will consider a discount for members...anyone want to spend thousands to save five bucks ? Why not just say you are with women in aviation
The other way to get in cheap, also works at Oshkosh, is to fly in with a warbird. Free entrance. Premium airplane parking space. And you can fly in the show.
Coupla gallons of paint, a few decals, an obscure background story...who's going to argue? (Actually, the paint job on this Tripacer is legitimate...) Ron Wanttaja
Being a member of EAA and AOPA,I get the discount but only once . Also a young eagles pilot ,doesn’t get you a bigger discount. It’s all about the money.
[snip] I suspect if someone wants to rent a display booth for the entire event, they will consider a discount for members...anyone want to spend thousands to save five bucks ?
We’re pilots! Spending thousands to save five is perfect!
Seems it may be time to start bootlegging these things. But to be an authentic bootleg it would have to be pocketless ...
This is really a non issue for anyone who might still be interested. I attended Sun N Fun this year...told them I was a member of EAA...they gave the 5 dollar discount without asking for proof. I am pretty sure they used to give 10 dollar discounts back when it was a sanctioned event.
