SR22 CAPS Deployment, No Injuries, KY/TN 6/2/26

Rough mag in air, CAPS pulled.
About four NM to an airport, I'd not yet pull the CAPS, if I could maintain altitude, or glide there. (I guess I can't pull CAPS at all, as the Skyhawk I fly hasn't any.)
Looks like that plane must have hung up in the trees then dropped, the damage is the most I've seen where the plane wasn't dragged by wind.

Engine issue I can see, I didn't see his altitude or how far they were from the airport but its better than some of the pulls I've heard of. Glad they are uninjured.

FWIW: Its my understanding every Cirrus is evaluated for rebuild after a CAPS deployment. I don't know how many have been repaired, but I know of 3 still flying after repair of similar damage.

I know for a while cirrus wasn’t having anything to do with a wing fix, but wing replace was fine.

Knew of somewhere fixing the wing, but no longer cirrus endorsed…

Or something. Not sure how much was engineering vs practical vs liability.
