Spencer's pilots

36 views and no one ever saw this show in the 70s?

Never saw it. Of course it was only on for a couple of months in the fall of 1976 when I was a freshman in college. I had other forms of entertainment at the time to occupy me along with school. I don’t know if it was ever in syndication since it probably wasn’t very popular based on its short life. So not much of a chance to be seen.

I watched it -- anything on network TV that focused positively on general aviation was exciting, even if it wasn't top quality.

There was plenty of airplane porn to watch, and technically it was pretty good. I haven't seen it since its initial run, so I don't remember many details about it -- except one goofy plot device where a Stinson (I believe) made a forced landing because a bad guy shot out the altimeter. o_O

Yeah I remember it. It was the airplane version of the show during the same era where truck drivers chased bad guys in semi trucks.

I was still ****ting my pants in the 70's

Hopefully I won't be ****ting my pants in my 70's.

Some good t-shirt and bumper sticker fodder right there

Same here, the TV only went on if something important came on, like the Super Bowl or the Long Beach Grand Prix... or Wonder Woman.

It was Wonder Woman for me...

I hear ya. I could only take so much of that silly show, even if it did feature the lovely Lynda Carter.

Now, if you can sit through an entire episode of Skyhawks, you're seriously aviation addicted, or recently had a brain injury.

One of the reasons I like POA is that a 45yo dude can still feel like the young guy in the room.

And no, I haven't seen it either, fall of '76 I was going through potty training, but like Ed, I'm sure I sh** myself a few times while not watching that show.

I remember it. Only one episode comes to mind, the one where a bullet fired into the roof of a Cessna kills the engine....

Finished watching the 11 episodes. Anyone in Ohio can v request it through search Ohio. Wouldn't want to own it or watch it again. Several technical mistakes (never locked the top lock off a warrior esque, took off with mixture not rich)

Good time.
