Not another FP accident!
Failed to Pull.
We. Are. Not. Learning.
Might need an SAIB to fix this.
Inadequate flare? Porpoise? Sux...
I recognize that helicopter dolly. It's been used many times to haul airplanes off the runway. I'm sure I'll hear about when I go to work tomorrow.
I saw an A36 taxi into a portable helo pad. Not paying attention.

I watched a C-207 taxi into a 55 gallon drum of anti-freeze. On a gravel ramp. Man, what a mess..!!!
It looks like the typical "too fast, porpoise" scenario.
To speculate a bit, wouldn't be surprised if it was 3L. The optical illusion caused by the width and length compared to 3R can fool you.
It's also the hump that gets people. You think you are running out of runway, when you really have a lot left.
A friend of mine did that with a 206 in Bethel a bunch of years ago. I was just taxiing in with the Casa when he did it. Unfortunately, I was reading the checklist and missed all the flying parts.
I hate that illusion. Thankfully not too many places have it, but that one is hard to avoid anywhere other than by reading the slope indications on the airport diagrams very carefully.
Yeah PDK is pretty bad. 3L is 50ft wider but 2000ft shorter than 3R, which is right next to it. And there's a pretty pronounced hump in the middle, you can't see the end of the runway from 50ft above threshold. Also no PAPI/VASI lights. Bring your a-game especially at night (no centerline lights either).
There are PAPI's
This happened in Kiana, east of Kotzebue. I had both engines running and was looking down finishing paperwork when I heard the noise. I looked up and saw the spray and my first thought was that a plane just crashed on the ramp.
In Bethel I watched a 207 taxi by. It was a windy day and I saw it hit a BIG wad of shrink wrap rolling across the ramp, and right into the prop. He throttled up, chewed threw it and kept on going.
Fond memories of Kiana. I watched our agent's daughter grow up and start flying his plane around at the age of 13 or so. I used to joke with her about her ability to reach the rudder pedals. She got her private ticket just after midnight on her birthday making her the youngest ever to get her PPSEL. Unfortunately, the names escape me now.
Must be talking about Zazell.
From what I heard, he bounced a few times and attempted to go around but caught a wing tip in the process. If that's true, it could have been much worse.
Pilot must not have added power yet or the prop tips would have been bent forward?? You are right - could have been much worse. From what I heard, he bounced a few times and attempted to go around but caught a wing tip in the process. If that's true, it could have been much worse.
