There's a lot going on this spring and this fly-in *has* been on my calendar for months, but due to some entangling alliances of my own making, I (a Cessna driver!) will be doing some "mission work" at the nearby "Beech Bash in the Bluegrass" at 2I0 (just two airports to the west). I'll be there from Thursday until Sunday so there is a slight possibility I might find time to swing by and see if anyone remembers me (or my Cessna) from 2024. Unfortunately, my lovely wife will not be with me this weekend. Regardless... have a great time at Rough River this weekend and maybe I can meet you again at a future fly-in!

After months of thinking "What/where the heck is rough river?" I finally looked it up. Its in my freakin part of the country...
My plane is down for a new engine and I clearly didn't plan ahead.
Pour one out for me, no, on second thought drink one for me. I can't be responsible for alcohol abuse!
 
I usually cancel for weather. The first year weather looks decent, a club member takes the plane up without the oil filler cap and trashes the pilot static system. Plane down for three months. I can't wait for the next club meeting to hear him explain how this happened.
 
I bought beer today, however it rained juuuuuussssttt enough that I couldn't go to the field today, but might be able to tomorrow. With more rain coming Monday...I don't know. Not looking super likely for me at this point.

Moderate turbulence and this view in all directions. I tried to get above it but it was building and I only had so much fight in me. I'm exhausted from the 2 hour circle I flew

That looks eerily identical to what everyone else successfully flew here in. You big ***** (that’s the Jack Daniel’s talking I’m sure u made the right decision pussboy)

Yeah, other than those clouds doesn’t look that bad. But, as you know, the camera adds 10 LBs!
