Rookie Mistake: Trashed my favorite PJ's

I was not expecting to go flying today so I threw on my favorite fuzzy fleece over my favorite long sleeve comfy shirt. Took my flight bag just in case....

Huge mistake.

Got a call around noon and the game was on. My instructor hopped out of the plane and the lowly 152 climbed like a monkey. At least the third and final landing was fairly soft. Thank you Land-O-Matic.

When we got back, I was a bit shocked my favorite CFI cut my lovely red shirt back clean off. It's garbage.

Have not posted much since when I was studying for the written - thank you for the help in getting to this milestone.

btw, it's pretty clear from the photo your daughter knows the PJs can be repurposed to her size perfectly. So not a total loss there either :D

No sir, she loved playing with them. It was hilarious.

Don't sweat everyone, I have found a new pair in the much more desirable green color - they are on order. The thread can now be marked as solved.

What an appropriate use of your 'favorite long sleeve comfy shirt'! Gives your solo even more meaning dontya think? I've had soooo many students who wouldn't let me cut their shirt and had to settle for their smelley old T. Again congrats!
 
Cool beans bro! At least you have yours. I left mine on the bulletin board at the Kadena Air Base Aero Club. It was an REO Speedwagon concert 3/4 sleeve tee shirt.

I learned at a 141 school, and the instructor wasn't into cutting shirts, sorta disappointed me (but he was a great guy, so so real complaints).

Very happy for your clothing incident.

I honestly did not know that cutting the shirt was a tradition. When my CFI wanted to do it, I was skeptical. I let him, but I told him that this better be a real tradition and not just a practical joke he made up.

A very old tradition. Got mine cut and I still have it.
 
I solo'd in 2003. I then left the area in 2004, and didn't return to the school until this past summer. My shirt-back was STILL hanging on the wall. Very cool tradition. Congratulations! Now onto the neat stuff.
 
Never had mine cut, but I think my instructor knew I was too broke to be losing any articles of clothing back then. Ha.
