Really Cold Start in the Middle of Nowhere

This is going to sound utterly facetious, but why did they need a highly trained aerospace engineer and pilot to schlep up there and count dogs? In a town of 2000 souls there is no one who can count that high?

Well, see, to count that high, they'd have to take off mittens and boots. And it's so cold that they can't do that. Ted, being an engineer-type, has to be able to work with two, three, even FOUR digit numbers in his head!

More like they needed the pilot, and I prefer to do something besides sit around the airport or hotel. Getting a chance to walk around the town was very interesting and educational. And I got to play with the dogs, which was the best part.
