Another view. One has to wonder about the ADM on this one.

One pole in the middle of the field and they found it.

Reminds me of my buddy who landed in a tree while doing a military parachute jump. One tree in the middle of a huge open field. He said no matter which way he steered the chute, it came straight at him. "Like a giant spear pointed straight at my balls" was the phrase he used.

This is a sad, real-world proof of the physical law that states "mass attracts mass".

It's how gravity works. There is a fundamental attraction between objects with mass. They exert a gravitational pull upon one another. Lacking any other objects with mass in that field, the Robinson was pulled inexorably into the light standard. An act of Newton, or God if you prefer.

Could be another explanation for this. On motorcycles and airplanes I've been taught to look where I want to go instead of looking at what I'm seeking to avoid. Looking at something seems to make you go right at it ...

Same thing with skiing trees. You don't look at the trees, you focus on the gaps between the trees.

Often expressed as 'See the tree, be the tree', or See the tree, eat the tree'.

Wat

You're suggesting this pole sucked the robbie in like it had a tractor beam?

Local FB group post had a member show a picture taken a few days ago of a full size RV towing a flatbed with this same N reg carefully strapped down to it. Looks like their summer vacation took an unfortunate turn. Hope they are recovering. Couldn't begin to imagine what caused this. WX locally has been a little cloudy but generally high ceilings, low winds, warm temps, and nothing weird (other than a weak front with some unseasonable rain that passed this last friday through Saturday). But I don't pretend to understand magic vertical flying machine things.

No, that would be silly.

The two attracted one another like the opposite poles of a magnet. (A completely different thing. )

This is why everyone should play a little ball. Look the ball into your hands / glove. If you just stare at the ball it will hit you in the head.
