My MT prop tape has frayed at the edge. It is the black on the leading edge inboard portion of the blades. What can be used to replace it?20170416_093326.jpg

I have only used the clear prop tape for the part of the prop leading edge that is not covered by the black. If you have breaks in the black area, you might want to have a mechanic examine the prop.

What's the purpose of the tape, just looks?

What can be used to replace it?
I would use the MT tape if only changing tape on one blade to reduce chance of weight differences in a different type of tape. It's usually called PU-tape or strip.

I have found an AD on the PU tape and have contacted a MT service center to see if they will be willing to sell the tape.

Agreed. That's a great looking airplane. What model is it? I'm a bit obsessed with Lancair's right now...

It is a Lancair 235 with an O-320 so commonly referred to as a Lancair 235/320. If you look closely the lower cowl has a few placed that had to be bumped out for clearance.
This one is serial number 2.
Thanks guys
