Does anyone have a couple pictures/graphics showing how you access the brushes in a Chrysler 2642997 alternator?

First glance it looks like you have to split it half, I want to make sure I'm not missing something.

No, they come out the back. It's a 2 minute job once the alternator is off. This video shows it around the 5:30 mark. Bonus points for doing it on the trunk of a charger:

Hartzell charges like $140 for the brushes. Don't do that. I called Falcon. Left a message and the guy called me back; I think it's a one man operation. Anyway, he sold me some that are approved for his rebuilds, but not really PMA for $10. IMO they are "standard parts" and don't need a PMA. The $2 set you can get at O'Reilly would be legal, if you trust them.

Definitely a "standard part" in my book, but technically to meet that standard the part must be produced per an industry or govt standard which few O-Reilly or similar parts are. However, buying from Helwig Carbon or similar does meet those standards and for the same $2 cost plus shipping.
