Fiat 127 Sport. Almost killed myself multiple times with it, because it was so much fun to drive.
Owning an airplane was not even a distant possibility, though... :(

Hah.. Same goes for you! :) Labor of love isn't it? I'm just happy the cub project is fabric. Than again, the long term plan is to get a 195 in 5 years or so.. 2 polished airplanes. I'm sick in the head I think.

I know a couple of guys with polished early 35s. Every time I think I'll just take the paint off and polish mine I take another look at just how BIG that sucker is. Now a C120 or a Luscomb - oh, my... might just have to find a partner for one so we could halve the time polishing ..

Cudos to all you with polished planes. Beautiful!!
 
I was sick when the hangar got flooded a few weeks ago. I had just polished about a month before. I probably could have just cleaned the whole plane with mineral spirits, but to be safe and make sure anything bad was off of it, I polished the whole plane again! Two polishes in a month sucks!

Otherwise I actually like it. It's cool seeing the results and it's good for some alone time... nobody stops by the hangar when you're polishing!

Six months thinking I'll end up with a Cherokee and I bring this home. I started flying it last Wednesday and have just over 4 hours. Haven't stopped smiling yet. 1960/61 C172B.

Yes. PB stands for Patrol Bomber and J was the model designation. Our B25 is painted to honor Marine Squadron VMB612 that did shipping interdiction in the Pacific. The plane is a B25J built in June of 1944. It is very good at converting avgas and oil into noise and smoke!
 
I'm based in Taylor. I sure love hearing the Devil Dog fly over!

I was PIC... of the tug (sole operator) towing an aircraft in which I wish I was rated. It counts, ask anyone! :goofy:

Not exactly. The J is the Department of the Navy designation for North American Aircraft. For Navy/USMC aircraft, the third letter is the manufacturer code.

B=Beech, also used for Boeing
C=Curtiss
D=Douglas
F=Grumman
J=North American
M=General Motors
N=Naval Aircraft Factory
S=Stearman
Y=Consolidated
 
We bought a couple of 'Devil Dog' T-shirts at OSH last year.
