Oh crap! There's a rattlesnake in the crapper!

Got me two of them suckers this summer at the college shop, plus a bullsnake and an eastern racer!

I cut the rattle off the larger of the two and gave it to our oldest boy, he then played with the snakes lifeless corpse for a bit because "it is cool!"
Well he left it laying out in the drive by the shop, one of our summer workers who was doing grounds maintenance found it and put it in the Maintenance supervisors truck, he took the time to coil it up on the floorboard. When Jim went to get in his truck in the morning he about **** himself! He came by after he had settled down and asked me if I had killed a snake, to which I said yes and he proceeded to fill me in on what had happened to it since I last seen it. I noticed it was gone when I drove in that morning but just assumed a bald eagle or a fox had picked it up. That poor guy.

heh - several years ago some guy brought his girlfriend out for an intro glider flight. She was way out of his league. It was also really funny to watch all the club guys climbing over each other to help her adjust the shoulder harness.

Oh, yeah, snakes...

Afterward, they were walking back to their car. The grass had been mowed earlier that morning. He saw what he thought was a piece of rope so he picked it up. Nope, a headless snake that the mower got. He did the whole squeal, toss it in the air, stand on one foot like a flamingo, wring his hands against his chest, and then pretend like it didn't happen act. It was pretty funny.

That's what happens when you don't use Pot Pourri

Had the plumber used an AOA indicator to properly install the plumbing, the snakes would not have been able to defy the laws of physics to enter the home through the ****er

garter snakes, no 'quakes
cold people moaning

Yeah, but at least I won't be forced to pump my own gas and risk grabbing a snake instead!!

Maybe I should move back to Alaska. No snakes there. At least not the slithering types.

Yep, only the two legged types for sure.

.

Every time I go to Joisey to visit family I get po'd at having to wait on an attendant to fill me up. Self serve is the way to go. Pop your card in the pump, fill up, and go, less than 5 minutes you're on your way. My dad, who has passed, has always complained and he's a life time resident except for military time.

I get copperheads in my yard every summer. I just pick them up and drop them on the other side of the stone wall between my house and the farm next door and turn them loose.
They eat a lot of mice and aren't really a threat unless you startle them, or when they are shedding their skin. They are blind then and will strike at anything that comes near.

Yep. Even in Vermont, though not the northern part where I live.

Michigan or Ohio would be good choices if you want to avoid rattlers. Though both states have Massassaugas, your chances of meeting one face to face are pretty small. I hiked the most snake-infested part of MI regularly for several decades without ever seeing one in the wild.

Agreed... though on my one and only (recent) trip to Joisey, I sweet-talked a busy attendant into letting me pump my own gas. I suspect it was illegal for both of us, but since no one complained and there were no cops around, no harm no foul.

Yep, timber rattlers are what we have in Vermont too... but only in a small area (part of Rutland County I think). There are no venomous snakes in the higher parts of the Green Mountains and none at any elevation north of the latitude of (roughly) Middlebury.

I never knew Minnesota had Massassaugas... learn something every day! :)
