Have you guys been able to bring in the new year flying? Unfortunately the weather has not been so great for sightseeing flights here in the southeast over the holidays. The weather finally cleared up for some great flying today (1/2/16). My son and I flew down to Charleston SC for the day. I am so glad to be seeing some nice flying weather again. I was starting to get cabin fever.

had my flight review today. I'm allowed to fly for at least another 2 years. crazy.

New Year's Day my wife and I flew up to Concord, NC to have lunch with my grand daughter then flew on over to Myrtle Beach so we could watch my grand son play in an all star football game today. We'll head back to Atlanta Monday.

Flew on the first. Man what a perfect day. Even heard another POA member up and was like....waaaaazupppppppp. He was like, not now man, I'm IFR with the the monkey.

aww well, I could'a said hi since I'm like 3 miles from JQF.

Wish I could've flown today but one of the partners had trouble with the plane.... sounds like it'll be down till the mechanic looks at it.
Oh the joys of airplane ownership

My son and I flew up to Manteo, NC (Dare County-KMQI) for lunch in Nags Head today and then perused the aquarium. Thought we'd fly the Outer Banks back to New Bern, but quickly realized I had underestimated how uncomfortable it'd be flying west'ish in the late afternoon!

How is the aquarium there? I noticed it on the map next to the runway the other day when I was looking for potential fuel stops around Kitty Hawk.

I was down at a friends house in Duck Key, FL, we flew into Marathon a few days before new years, and just flew back home on new years day late in the evening, great flight back home over florida with great weather!

Two of us flew back from Da U.P. of MI on the 2nd. We parked at KSAW for a few nights. The weather was plenty good enough both ways. What's not to love with a 12000'+ runway?

We did a bit of this and that. The highest drama was rooting two raccoons out of the attic of a camp. They didn't want to go willingly.

Sorry, was only there about an hour and a half. Had the plane topped off and got hit with a $12 ramp fee. When the hell did they start doing that? I've never had a ramp charge there before.

My son lives 4 or 5 miles from the airport.

Still can't break the seal on the new year ...

The monkey did all the flying on the first and the second :(

I rang out the old year by flying on the 31st. Haven't gotten up yet this year.

Between working on the new deck and WX, I've not been up in 6 weeks. Until yesterday. Overcast gave way to CAVU. Did Sportys, then Lunken for lunch before riding a tailwind home.

Not the best weather here in the mid Hudson Valley. But hope springs eternal.
I just hope I don't have to wait until spring.

St. Louis area flooding...

Tried today, pulled the plane out of the hanger I rented for the weekend. As I was rolling it out the fog rolled in. Been foggy all day. Don't even think Alaska Airlines has been in since it became foggy.

I've gotten a little flying in the last 3 or 4 days. Today was the first day of the year I didn't fly.

I really was hoping to get some instruction in a fairly rare and unique airplane on New Years, but things fizzled out on that. It will come soon enough.

After a solid week of bad weather, have been able to fly four days straight. Mostly just out boring holes. Flown Cub, RV-4 and Pitts. Back to work tomorrow so the fun will end. :(

Flew yesterday afternoon. It was one of those days you just HAD to fly. Visibility for miles and miles, light winds and everybody and their dog in the air!

Wasnt quite a New Years Day flight but was pretty close and nice to get in the air.

Gonna try. I'd love to put an IFR GPS in the Lucky Strike, but don't have the $$$$. Guess I'll have to piddle along with what I've got.

Made the trip back from Myrtle Beach today. Pretty sporty on both ends. Winds was 19 kts straight down the runway at MYR and 330@18 at KLZU.
